Those going to Pandora opening....How early

We are going but not for opening. Just for opening day at some point. We are hopping over (using Express Transportation) from another park. Figure this will be 100X easier than the front gates and navigating crowds to get back to Pandora.

Does anyone think Disney will have to do anything at first for Pandora the way universal did for Harry Potter? When that area first opened the had to limit the numbers going in and you would wait in line to get into the area until enough people left. Since this is a clear "section" and could get extremely overcrowded do you think they will implement anything like this procedure?

Wouldn't be surprised ESPECIALLY during PM EMH when Pandora will be the ONLY thing open.

We are arriving on the 27th but not doing DAK for our first day. I made fastpasses for Pandora rides for later in the week. I just thought it would be way overcrowded on the first day and with the kids, it could probably get ugly fast if my 3 year old has a meltdown. LOL Of course, that could happen any day as it's going to be crowded, but I'm not going to miss it, just thought opening day would be crazier than others.

Planning to grab an Uber or taxi from the Swan around 5:40AM and get to the AK gate by 6AM.

We are using a different strategy that everyone else (hopefully!) by heading straight to the Safari at opening and then working our way around EE, Dino and KRR. We have FPs (yes FPs plural) for FoP and NRJ because of the now infamous glitch. FPs for FoP/NRJ are at 11AM and Noon. We will wait until then to circle back to Pandora.

I am on the boards pretty frequently but somehow missed the info about this glitch you speak of... care to share if you can:)

We went to IoA in July of 2010. Absolute madhouse. We arrived at park opening (not early enough) and had to wait about 90 minutes to be allowed in to the Harry potter section. Wall to wall humanity and huge lines for everything once inside. I honestly don't think Pandora will generate anything close to the same frenzy but it wouldn't be surprising if they have to restrict entry to control crowding in the first few weeks or months.

I won't be visiting AK until July but our plan is to stay from open to close one day, forgo our usual afternoon break and expect huge crowds and long waits for everything.

Where will the second entrance be? Camp Minnie Mickey only had one guest entrance.

It is in the "back" of this picture from OTPN "behind" the Harambe Theater District restrooms.:)

I completely forgot about EMH! I would have figured it out eventually ha! I am actually surprised they left that in place. I wonder how they are going to address lines at the entrance! I am sure there will be a good amount of people there that are not staying on property. If they don't have specific lines for EMH, it could be a mess figuring out who can and who cannot go in at 7!

You would have to read thru the Official Pandora thread, but on opening day of FoP and NJ FP availability (on March 24 I think) they were not tiered for like 5 or 10 minutes. So anyone online right then - like me - were able to book both.

We are spending one full day and another half day at AK and I was able to get FPs for each ride on both days. Lucky me and a number of others. Too late for everyone else now. :)

Ugh - 7am is pretty dang early for me and I'll have my 21 year old son with me. I'll be getting up early and attempting to get to the park at 6:30am. I know I'll want to be there for the PM EMH too. I can always sleep when I get home on Memorial Day sometime.

Don't know about the 21 year old though. At least he's old enough to meet up with me later.
