Okay, fess up! Are those first 5 minutes of exercise hard for you? I'm a walker/runner, and when I get going, there's always some excuse that I could use to derail me. I'm dressed to lightly, to warmly, ooh, that hurts, I don't feel to good!

Then I get past those 5 minutes, and I start feeling good! Like I can do this! By the time I'm done, I'm so glad I got past those excuses and made myself do it.

Who else?

I TOTALLY agree... especially if those first five minutes involve having to get out of bed!! I do that to myself all the time.... I start (reluctantly sometimes) and give myself "permission" to do just 20 minutes or just 30 minutes.... but once I get moving I can usually motivate myself to keep going! In fact, sometimes in the morning, once I am moving, I don't want to stop and get showered for work, but of course, I have to.................P

The only time I really notice this is winter running. I dress a little cooler than I should because I know that first mile will be cold but once I warm up I'll feel good. It is heading out the door into the cold that I hate. In the nice weather or at the gym I don't have that problem...my issue is with wanting to quit before that last exercise.

Any time it is cold or rainy(like today) the first 5 minutes are tough but once I get it going it flows.
