DH knows this guy who used to be in guards with him. DH occasionally fixes his computer for him. Anyway, after hearing about all our trips to WDW, he & his wife finally went in 2004 for a week. Upon returning, they immediately booked another week in 2005 because they had such a good time.

Just recently, he tells DH they are going back again in 2007 & 2008. And this time they are going to see "those fireworks". DH asks which fireworks, & the guy says "ya know, those fireworks in EPCOT". :rotfl2:

Oh....the poor misguided soul. 2 weeks in WDW & they haven't seen ILLUMINATIONS yet? :confused3 :rotfl2:

DH just HAD to tell me. :teeth:

:bitelip: Oh my...DH and I've been going to EPCOT since it opened and sometimes go on a weekly basis. Afraid we refer to the event 'round the lagoon at evening's end as "those fireworks"!!! :rotfl2: Sorry!

I don't care what you call them, we just couldn't believe they haven't seen them yet. :confused3

Did he at least see WISHES?? Not seeing that is a crime.

I hate to admit it, but I don't really care for Illuminations. Wishes? Awesome! But Illuminations just doesn't do it for me.

I met somebody who had been to multiple times to DL and WDW and never let his family stay for the fireworks because they assumed they were like the lame shows small towns have on the 4th of July.

I think he thinks I was exagerating when I described the different shows but it will be some time before he goes back since he's also burned out on the wait times. He refuses to figure out fast passes.

***Hanging my head in shame*** I have never seen them either. We were in WDW in 2002 and the night we had planned to see them something happened and we just did not get there in time. We are planning a trip in 2007 so "those fireworks" are on the top of our list of things to do.

A guy at work told me they didn't go to the Countries part of Epcot, they went to the Worlds.

"Worlds?", I asked. "In Epcot?"

Yeah, he explains. Epcot is really two parks and one park is the Countries and the other park is the Worlds.

I just said, "Oh, I see."

I don't care for Illuminations either, we've seen it from EPCOT and once on an Illuminations Cruise. I'll take Wishes anyday over Illuminations.

I fell in love with IllumiNations in 2000. I had a better understanding of the show because of Tapestry of Nations parade & listening to the music/lyrics on Millennium Celebration CD alot. But even without the understanding, its still a beautiful show.

I miss Tapestry of Nations.

Maybe your friend can show our friend around next trip. He sure sounds like he's an expert. :rotfl2:

My DBF told me had been to Epcot when he was 7. I always thought it was strange that his family took him to Orlando and only went to Epcot. :confused3 So I asked him one day while I was planning our upcoming trip what his favorite thing had been about Epcot. He said the Jaws ride. :confused3 Ummm.....wrong park sweety. :teeth: He had never even been to Epcot. What a confused little boy he must've been. ;)

Me too. What an awesome parade and I'm not a parade person at all. Illuminations is amazing to me. Wishes is good but nothing compares to Illuminations IMO. I love the big torches at each of the countries and when they all go out. Gives me goose bumps.

The whole speech, torch "blow out", and first part if the song chokes me up every time.

Me too, I'll be crying like a baby during the whole thing. My parents are used to it but my bf will think I'm crazy. I don't know why it affects me so much. Walking around WS at night with the soft lights and music chokes me up as well, but now I'm getting :offtopic: .

I am with you. We went to WDW probably 8 times before we finally saw Illuminations. Our kids were just too little to stay up that late. Last Feb we saw it and can you say "disappointing??" Bleah. We will not be wasting our time with that one again!
