package holiday coming out really good price with thomas cook, just wondering if anybody has been with them and any advise, thanks. :)

Me and my DBF also got a great package price with Thomas Cook (£400 each CHEAPER) so this was a no brainer for us, as we compared with virgin and the leg room is exactly the same so we thought lets go for it.

This is our very first Disney holiday so wont have anything to compare with but will be following this thread to see what peoples experiences are :-)

Let me know if you book! :-)

We booked our last trip with Thomas Cook and saved about £500 for the 2 of us.

The only negative we found as we could not get a booking confirmation number from them so could not do the 180+10 ADR. I had to book each day separately, with is not the end of the world but for a 14 night holiday it was a bit of a pain.
This also meant we could not put in any room requests.
We are leaning towards booking our next one direct with Disney, partly due to this but mainly due to the FP+ system. Assuming it rolls out in it's current form I'm thinking that without our Disney booking confirmation number we would not be able to book FP+, with seems a bit of a drawback. I could well be wrong about the FP+ think though so if anyone else knows more then do feel free to correct me!

Good point about the disney ref number to book your fp+, however, i assume you can set up your fp+ in a lobby or once checked in, i'm happy to do ours the night before as i may be shuffling my days around depending on DD. Be good to know if there is a way of getting the disney booking ref though, and hopefully can do room requests through TC. For 500 quid+ cheaper i'm happy for the slight inconvenience of not able to book fp+ before we go :) However, I just googled about the ref number and someone posted on another forum that you can get your ref number from your travel agent once you reach the 180 days before threshold.

Glad someone had better luck than us! Thomas cook point blank refused to give us a Disney reference number, even after I made a number of visits and phone calls to them. They said as they block book the rooms for the company they don't pass the customer names on to Disney until a week before you fly, hence they don't have a Disney reference to give. But they also insisted ADR's could only be booked a month from your arrival date...!

hhmmm that's interesting - i will let you know if i find out anything else - maybe email the resort direct (for room request) and they may be able to help with the ref number too, you never know.

I did try that and no luck...as Thomas Cook hadn't passed our details to Disney, Disney could not find our booking so couldn't give us the ref either.

:cheer2:We almost always use Thomas cook as they are far cheaper than virgin, but we still fly with virgin, so no different really. No problem getting a ref number, we had ours before the 180 days so were able to book all adrs ect.Only downside I see at the moment is booking out seats on plane, Thomas cook tell us we cant book until 30 days before we go,wereas virgin customers can book 90 days before.so will be pot luck where we are seated and there is 7 of us.:cheer2:
