Hi,

Was just wondering if anyone has flown with TC and what you thought of the planes/ food etc..

Thanks in advance

Nicci

We flew in their Prem Econ back in April.

An old plane, we didnt get the amenity pack and food was just about edible. The seatback TV's didnt work properly - and as the controls were on the back of the seat infront of you the person behind was continually pushing the back of the chair. Staff really weren't bothered at all.

Last year we flew FC econ to Mexico - much better!! Lovely new plane, good entertainment and reasonable food.

I have written a letter of complaint to TC - as yet I have had no acknowledgement! I know my complaints may be a bit petty, but we paid nearly £500 for the upgraded seats - I reckon that we had about £50worth!!!

We have flown with various operators - econ & prem econ, short and long haul.
I know the plane is really only a method of travel, but a 9hr flight is quite a long one. Unless it was an unbelievable deal I would avoid TC with a bargepole.

Hope this helps.

Travelled twice with them & never again. First time was fine although cramped & just small tv screens up the middle of the plane meant not the most comfortable of journeys but was cheaper than other companies. Last year we were treated appallingly & told to write to complain. Response to complaint was a standard letter, which I complained about in my second letter. They response was that they would investigate & reply within 28 days, that was February & I'm still waiting.

we flying thomas cook in august...sounds great so far!! anyone with good experiences?

I'm going in October lol. Don't worry about it, people tend to post the negative but not the positive. We'll be fine lol

we flew with them years ago to kenya in normal cattle class and it was horrible but had a great flight to dom rep when we upgraded our flights, I would never fly charter airline without upgrading the seats on a long haul flight

I flew with them last Sept to Sanford in cattle class. For a cheap flight it was fine - good 33' legroom (done by making seat bases 2" shorter :) - food not terrible that I recall, with seatback screens.

We had 20kg luggage allowance (now reduced I think), and they were VERY strict on charging for excess - saw some people charged $100 + when checking in.

we flew with them from manchester to orlando last year.

On the way there things weren't too bad, but on the way back our coach got delayed and we hadn't prebooked seats (becuase my bf didn't want to pay £40 each to do that) so we ended up at different parts of the plane. That wouldn't have been too bad apart from my TV wasn't working so the flight was even more depressing than usual coming back.

Having said that though, it was bearable. The flight attendants were friendly enough, and although the food wasn't that great (and I wasn't allowed a cup of water to take a tablet as I had already had a coffee) it wasn't inedible either.

One good thing was that there was plenty of leg room. If we ever do get a bad flight we just try and look forward to where we are heading to (and if it is a return flight try and fall asleep so we can dream about all the fun we just had :)

Unlike many of the others above I have only good things to say about TC!!
We flew manchester to orlando (sanford) PE last year (our 5th trip) and there is not one thing I could complain about. Outbound the flight left spot on time, we were able to follow the flight via the GPS screen on the seat back tv's, the films/entertainment etc were fairly current, the food was OK (don't think anyone would ever say airline food was good!), the staff were brilliant, and we arrived early! Inbound, the flight left within 10 mins of schedule, landed about 30 mins early and again the staff were excellent. Even when they had to cope with an elderly passenger (behind us) who became unwell during the flight, they did it quietly, discretly, efficiently and with a great deal of care and attention - so much so I doubt many others in the cabin even noticed!

We were so impressed that we have booked to go with TC again (next monday!).

I flew with Thomas cook last year and it was fine tvs were fine staff were great and legroom was great plus the food :thumbsup2

On the way back upon arrivin at the airport we were greeted by a rep who straight away told us that we would not be leavin that day due to a fault with the plane and that they had arranged a coach for us all to go to a hotel paid for by them with dinner and drinks included (a nice hilton) so was very happy that we didnt have to wait around for hours then be told it all happened straight away very good service.

Boy am I glad to hear that, was getting slightly depressed after reading the other posts.Though I see you flew PE and not economy. Hope that doesn`t make too much difference :)

We fly out on the 4th Sept out of Belfast, last year we flew Virgin and were very impressed, having said that the connecting flight and the hustle of gatwick made that a long day.

I`m not particularly hard to please, as long as the plane stays in the air and there is some sort of entertainment and the staff are pleasant then I`ll probably be satisfied.

we flew with them last year, had a few minor issues, generally they were sorted out, im planning on booking again with them for next year so it couldnt have been that bad.

one bit of advice is make sure your kids meals if you require them are booked at the travel agents in advance, mine werent.
