We were at WDW last week for the FTP. (It's so sad to be home.) One evenning, we had dinner at the Cape May Cafe at the Beach Club for an all you can eat seafood dinner. It was delicious, then we wandered around the boardwalk. The kids played a couple of games, but at $2-$3 a pop multiplied by 3 kids we kept it brief!!! Anyway, we then popped into Epcot for Illuminations. We stood on the bridge between United Kingdom and France and had a pretty decent view of the fireworks show. The best part was popping out quickly without pressing against the mass of humanity. We had an easy walk to our car at the Beach Club and were back at POR in a flash! Just something to think about.

We spent another two evennings at Epcot, but felt no need to stay for Illuminations. We could enjoy parts of Future World completely without crowds. Imagination... we had the whole entrire car to ourselves and the kids could romp around in the play area practically by ourselves. We just walked onto the Epcot Ball. The Epcot Ball (can't remmember the name) Test Track and Mission Space were all open until 9 by the way, even though the rest of Future World closed at 7.

Great suggestion and even better if you are staying at an EPCOT resort. Just take the boat in to the back entrance and pop back out. Glad you found that and were able to enjoy Illuminations. :)

Thanks for the info! How early did you have to get there to get a space? We have never really gotten a good view of Illuminations and therefore havent been very impressed by it. Weve even left early to avoid the rush to the bus, because our view was so bad. This time we are staying at the Swan so this might be the perfect location for us. Ill definitely try it.

We didn't arrive too early at all. We got there at about 8:30-8:45 I believe and bellied up to the fence. There was no one in front of us and we just sat on the pavement.

That sounds great! We have never ate at the beach club. The seafood buffett sounds great! We are all hugh seafood lovers.
