This whole DME thing is going to make my head explode

Just my opinion:

I second what Tyler and a few others have said, to re-imagineer the ME computer system is a lot more complicated then you or the chimp thinks.

Not only does the system need to be modified but it also has to be tested quite exhaustively with dummy data to be sure other features were not damaged and also the CM's working the system and doing the bookings need to be trained to use the new features.

On an A to F scale, what you want rates as an "extra credit" item, the service still merits an A even though you need to split up the yellow tags and send them and photocopies of the DME reservation papers to your family members.

The user interface for the booking CM's needs to be modified so there are four rather than one address to send the yellow tags to, and have a provision that one, two, three, or all four may or may not be filled in.

Now I got writer's cramp so I won't finish this story of which there is a lot more. Anyway to keep going on this story will get more and more OT.

DME has finally gotten their act together, and consistently gotten the info booklet/luggage tags out to everyone on a timely basis. I know we heard many complaints about people not getting the tags, the tags were incorrect...etc. I would think it would only be a step backwards to go with a mulitple mailing. If a group is close enough to travel together, then they should be able to figure out a way to get their luggage tags divided up. I am traveling with another mom and her dd in two weeks. We live in different towns but are flying together. So, I will give her their tags when we meet up that morning. It will take about 2 1/2 minutes to afix the tags to their bags.

At least you are getting tags - I am getting married at Disney - I booked my mom's room - put it on my credit card but under her name and they would not let me add ME to her reservation even when I explained that I was her daughter and that she was a school teacher and that I was trying to do this to help save her time - so then when she called back I do not even remember what happened...but we ended up making 3 phone calls to get it handled thought it was taken care of - my aunt who ordered hers later got her booklet and mom did not have hers so I called back this time pretending to by my mom, well they did not even have my mom in the system- UGH!!!! AFter 3 calls - I love how they will take MY credit card but will not let me make changes - I have used ME 3 times and have never had any problems except for this and I am just plain old mad!!!

Whatever. You know darn well that the ride isn't "free"... the cost is built into what we pay.
Call me Spock, but I hate it when things are illogical... and there is no logical reason why they can't send tags to different addresses. There just isn't, and that's my point.

Okay, fine. Sure. The cost of Disney's Magical Express is built into what we pay - for, I assume, the resort rooms. So, all the Guests who don't use DME are paying for a perk that those of us who do you the service, get. Cool.
For the record, Disney Resort room rates did not 'jump' last year or this; they maintained their normal, annual, expected increase. So then all the years before[/] DME, we must have been 'paying' for a service that wasn't even available yet? Disney 1, Guests 0...
As for sending tags to different addresses: Each reservation gets A Magical Express packet. Not four, not two, not eight - ONE. All the tags and vouchers are in THAT packet. It's the responsibility of the reservation holder to distribute luggage tags and vouchers as needed.
