Welcome to my trip report! :goodvibes

If you read my pre-trip report, thanks for following me over here. :flower3:

If you did not read my pre-trip, thanks for joining me!

For those who are new to my TR and those who have bad memories, let’s get the introductions out of the way:

I’m Julie. I’m 28 years old. I’m married to Gordon, who is a wonderful man, but does not love Disney World. Gordon did not come along on this trip, but here's a pic anyway!

I am a pediatric physical therapist and I love my job. I have 2 dogs, Roxy and Indy, who I sometimes forget are not my children.

This was my 5th visit to the World. It was by far the most extensively planned visit.

Next is my best friend, Beth. She is 29 years old and just had a baby in July. She is a nurse, but now is a full-time mommy. We met during our freshman year of college when we were roommates. We remained roommates throughout college and grad school. Beth is the sweetest, nicest, and most fun friend a girl could have.

Then there’s Jason, Beth’s husband. He is 31. He will finish his residency in December. Yay!!!! He is awesome. Absolutely perfect for Beth. He LOVES to eat!

Next is Beth and Jason’s baby boy. He is 3 months old and ADORABLE. I was so happy to be able to spend so much time with him this trip. I don’t see him much as his family lives in Wisconsin and I live and love in Arizona.

The fam:

Then there’s Sarah, my cousin, 31 years old. She is an engineer. She’s a lot of fun and always up for anything. She also LOVES to eat!

Last, but not least, is Jason’s mom, Julie. A.k.a. the granny nanny. She hung out with the baby while the rest of us went to the parks. She was very happy to spend so much time with the baby as she lives in Arizona and doesn’t see him much.

We went to Disney World Friday, October 26 until Wednesday, October 31.

We started planning this trip in January. It seemed to take forever for the trip to come, but then it flew by. Isn’t it always like that?!?

p.s. I'm going to do my best to get this TR done quickly and not to drag it out.

Oh my...am I first??? :confused3

Hi!! :wave2:

I'm soooo glad you put a link in your pre-trip! I would have hated to lose you!! I'm soooo excited to read all about your trip!

Welcome home, again!!

Welcome home!!!!!! Well sort of...it seems like it went so fast.

Did it rain as much as it looked like? I followed weather.com everyday to see if it rained while you were there. Yeah, I'm a worrier even for people I barely know.;)

Looking forward to your TR. You can drag it out. I don't mind...just not 7-8 months dragging it out, but no need to rush either.:thumbsup2

Hey Julie! I've been following you pre-trip for a few months now and I can't believe it's already time to read the trip report. It sounds like you guys had such a great time! And the baby!!! Look at those cheeks!!!!

I can't wait to read all about it!

You have a great job. What type of PT work do you do. We loved my DD PT, she was with us for 1 1/2 years. Aviva was a preemie.

Sounds like you have a fun group going with you.

Cannot wait to hear more about your trip.

It did go by so fast!

It rained MORE than it looked like! I felt like a drowned rat most of the time, but I still had so much fun...no need to worry!

It definitely won't be 7-8 months! I would forget everything by then.

I do have a great job! I love it.

I work with kiddos with developmental delays. I work with anyone from birth to 18 years old.

My preemies are some of my favorites...they make such amazing progress.

Thanks for reading!

Had to drop by here before we left. That baby is adorable!! I know you will give us great pics and a wonderful trip report.

It will give me something constructive to do when we get back instead of going into WDW withdrawls :thumbsup2.

You'll have a blast! It was so crazy to me to feel how humid it is in Orlando compared to this desert!

You're going to have a blast!

Friday, October 26 Day 1, Part One

My alarm rang at 4 a.m. this morning. However, I did not need an alarm because I did not sleep AT ALL the night before. I was WAY too excited. You all know what I’m talking about, right?

So when the alarm went off and ended the charade of trying to sleep, I hopped out of bed and into the shower. I NEVER hop out of bed. I am more of a snooze 2 or 3 times and slide out of bed kind of person. This morning, however, I was ready!

I showered, packed the rest of what needed to be packed into my bags and said good-bye to my dogs. They each got just a few extra treats before I left.

DH loaded my bags into the car and we were off!

Doesn't he look happy to be up so early?!?

Minnie ears: Check!
PA250036.jpg

After a 15 minute ride to the airport, DH got my bags out for me, we had a good-bye smooch and I was on my way!

There was no one in line at the bag check, so that went very quickly. The security line was very short as well. I was at my gate and ready to go at 5:30 and my flight was at 6:30. There wasn’t much food selection at 5:30, so I grabbed a muffin and orange juice from Starbuck’s and had some breakfast.

We boarded the plane right on time and the flight wasn’t very full. But, of course, two people decided to sit right next to me.

My flight left a few minutes late because of weather conditions at our destination. We were in the air by 6:45 and on our way to our stop in St. Louis.

PA250037.jpg

I’m sorry to be gross here, but the person sitting next to me on the airplane had the worst breath I have ever smelled! It was grody! I was very happy when she asked for coffee from the flight attendant because the coffee killed her dragon breath a little bit.

I watched the first hour of “Clue”, the movie, read some of my book, and went over my print-outs of our plans for the week.

At 3:15, after a little stop to pick up some people in St. Louis, we were on the ground at MCO. Yay! I put on my Minnie ears (this was their third trip), stepped out of the airplane, and called Sarah. She said she was waiting at my baggage claim carousel, so I ran to the fake monorail and took it over to baggage claim. I found Sarah standing there waiting for me.

PA260039.jpg

We hugged, chatted about our flights and waited. And waited. And waited. For my bags to arrive. Finally, they did arrive. I called Beth and she said they were just pulling into the airport and would be there to get me in a minute. Sarah and I stepped outside and I could feel my hair begin to curl immediately. It was SO HUMID!!!!! Quite a change from the desert I live in!

Finally, Beth and Jason and baby arrived and we all gave hugs and hopped in the car. I got to sit in the back, next to the baby. He is adorable. You are going to get sick of me saying that, but it’s so true.

PA260042.jpg

Our first stop was Publix, the grocery store. We picked up some breakfast foods, Gatorade, fruits, and vegetables to keep in the room.

At this point, I was about to burst with excitement, so we got the food in the car and departed for the happiest place on earth!

Just a few minutes later, we drove under this magical sign:

And then we made our way to the Animal Kingdom Lodge!!!
