Elvis has been dead 25 years!!!:earseek: Not that I am a big Elvis fan, but I lived in Memphis when he died....Has it REALLY been 25 years?? Holy moly...where did 25 years go ?? :(

Thanks for making me feel really old! I can remember some of my friends crying when he died. I never even knew they liked Elvis.

August 2 marked 25 years since my dad died...the same feeling struck me. Doesn't seem possible.

Yep, it really has been 25 years. I can always keep track of how many years it has been since he died (not that I was a fan at the time). He died on my 13th birthday. Now THAT seems like a lifetime ago!!:bounce:

Tony my father died 25 years ago in March. I was blessed with a son 25 years ago on Aug 1st. What really shocked me was I forgotten I was on 22 when my father died. I am now 48 on Jul 26. I had not thought of my age just the things in my life at that time. I do ponder what I missed being able to do with my dad, especially when my oldest son just got married. Yes Elvis did leave the building 25 years ago.

Wehn you consider Lisa Marie Presley was just a small child when her father died, and now she is in her 30's and was married to Michael Jackson and now dating Nick Cage, I guess it does seem like 25 years.

I was also 13 when Elvis died, Colleen. I remember that day rather vividly, not because I was a fan, but because my best friend's parents were huge fans. They built like this shrine to Elvis in their den. Thousands of Elvis artifacts all crammed into this one room. When he died, that whole family went into mourning. It was kind of bizarre, this utter devotion to a celebrity they never met. After he died, they would vacation at Graceland every year. Very strange.

Wow, time sure passes. I remember being at my grandma's and I went upstairs to watch television while everyone else was downstairs. The news of his death came on the tv, and although I did not really know who he was I knew my mom like him. I remember going downstairs and telling everyone 'that Elvis guy is dead'

Exactly! Where did the last 25 years go? I graduated from high school 25 years ago. I remember exactly where I was when I heard about Elvis. I bet most people do.

Yes, I was at work.:o I was attending Miami Dade Comm. College at the time. I worked for a "mail Order Church" ala Jimmy Swaggart, and we had the radio on, and the news announced it.:( The WHOLE place erupted in everyone shocked and crying.

I remember both where I was and what I felt when I heard elvis had died. I was 11 years old and I was spending the night at my grandparent's house. My dad had died the year before so I had a good idea what death was all about and I felt like "Dad is dead, now elvis is gone, EVERYBODY is gonna die!" It makes me laugh now but at the time I was pretty torn up.

I was 8 at the time. We were all in the basement watching TV when the news came on and said he had died. My mom actually went up to the TV and grabbed it and said "What????What???" She then went and locked herself in her room until Dad came home!!

25 years??!!! Didn't realize it had been that long. Shessh... I feel old as well. :)

I can't believe its been 25 years!! I was 6 years old and we were on vacation w/ my aunt & uncle and grandma & grandpa when we heard the news. My mom was a huge Elvis fan.

I remember it because it was about a week after I started working my first job. We were sitting at the dinner table with the radio on when there was a news bulletin.

Saw on ET tonight that Lisa Marie and Nicholas Cage were married last Saturday in Hawaii. Much better choice than MJ!

I was in a taxicab in Zephyrhills (Florida) when I heard the news on the radio. It's hard to believe that it was a quarter of a century ago.

I was home taking care of my 3 week old son (who just turned 25 = sheesh, I AM old) when the news came on the TV.

Years later my daughter, now 22, was watching an Elvis movie marathon. She was probably about 7 or 8 at the time.

Totally mesmerized (as we all were in the past) she said she wanted to marry Elvis Presley when she grew up. I said, but he's dead.

Oh boy, did she get mad at me! No way was her "boyfriend" dead! He was right there on TV!

....Kids.
