I'd like to say something else but I'm controlling myself. Was on phone 7:15 yesterday, missed out on AP rates for Poly first week of Nov. Called this morning missed out on BAT. Called for new dream maker package. Missed out on that too. No AAA rates available either. I am so emotionally exhausted. Well, got to go to work to make the extra $800 I need to send to WDW Now!!:sad2:

Don't give up! Keep trying. Many people make multiple reservations and then decide later which to use. Plus some people "can't resist the AP rate" and make a reservation then decide later they can't go. So there will probably be some cancellations!

I called to apply the Dreammaker code to our trip in Nov. and the CM applied it right away. According to Mousesavers, our trip falls into some of the "blackout" dates for the code, BUT the CM said the code was applied to our entire stay! :teeth: (We're staying at the Contemporary.)

I also suggest calling back and trying again. Also, someone yesterday suggested asking if they can apply the code night by night. They had an 8-night trip and using this method were able to apply the AP code for 7 of the 8 nights.

Keep trying with different CMs, too. Some seem to be more helpful and more creative than others. Some just go by the book, while others really make that extra effort for you.

There doesn't seem to be that many rooms available for rates this fall. I was talking to a TA yesterday and she said the rates have been harder to get this time. But keep trying. I have several AP rate rooms on hold until I figure out what to do. We are going over Halloween weekend and TA said that rooms, even at rack rate are hard to find, especailly at deluxes. Good luck.

Well...you guys must have been sending some pixe dust myway. Got Room only code BAS 4 of my 8 nights. But you know what a CM told me? He said when someone cancels a room only code or AP code, he thinks they put the room back on rack rate and not on discount code. Wonder if that's true. I'll keep checking anyway for my other 4 nights!:bounce:

gjerseygirl....that is correct! we have been told that many times also. When a CM cancels a ressies instead of being put back into the CM pool, it gets put back into rack. So imagine that is true for other discounts.

I think choosing the first week of November was one of your biggest problems. That seems to be an extremely busy and popular time, filled with activities and conventions. I find flexibility in what resort you stay at is the key to saving money. When there is no flexibility, you must be prepared to pay the piper.

You should continue to monitor the availabilitiy via disneyworld.com. there are fall discounts available on line too, and it's easier than having to call all of the time.

I'm definetly going to monitor online. That's how I got the discount that I have.

However, as far as choosing the first week of Nov. the main reason why its so busy is because of people like me. It's "Jersey Week" and everyone from New Jersey will be down there because our children are off from school. So I can't have flexibility with the dates. DS in high school (Junior), DD Middle school and DS in 2nd grade. Only other option is summer and that's not an option. I'm not a heat person. Or easter week. Oh yeah, that would be fun!! Oh well, I'll keep checking anyway!

If that's the case, they'll have a TON of rooms open. Maybe, initially, they go to rack. However, Disney makes X amount of rooms available for codes, and I would imagine that X amount of rooms will be sold with those codes in due time.

I, too, was going through the same thing you were until I got lucky yesterday (on my fifth call) and got 6/9 nights of my stay with BAT. I'm going to try to get the other three, but I'm happy right now--relieved is more like it. I was really depressed the last couple of days. I thought I'd save $800-900 on the always present codes, and it took many, MANY calls to do it. At one point, I had an AP rate at the Poly that was very good, but it saved me no money over my WL ressie. Now, I'm back at WL with an extra $600 in my pocket and (hopefully) will score the rest in the coming days.

These last two code days were very, very stressful for many of us. Now, "Let's let the magic begin..."

I hope you are right about the number of rooms for codes. I will keep trying anyway.

I know what you mean about being depressed and exhausted. The past 2 days have taken alot out of me. Cant wait to see my phone bill. But for now....I'm happy too!!::yes::

call a travel agent and let them worry about it. I have a great one. Her name is Pam email is pams@cruisingco.com email her and see if she can do better and cheaper for what you want. They get paid by Disney so its no extra money for you.

We use a travel agent, The Magic For Less. Deb did all the work for me. I heard stories about people on their phones for over an hour trying to get codes, switch codes, etc. I got an email from Deb telling me my rate was reduced from 118.00 to 79.00, and I didn't have to do anything. I will only use a TA for Disney. Every place else we go, we do our own booking.
