We will be staying at AKV (DVC) for a week in a 2BR with my in laws. Because we don't have enough points for the entire time in a 2BR Sav we are going to spend our first night in a studio or value 2 BR. We should be able to do the Deluxe dining plan for that first night and then when we move to the 2BR sav use the regular dining plan for that portion of the trip. I believe technically it should be two separate reservations and we would have to check out of the studio/2BR val to then check into the 2BR sav

We want to do cindarellas royal table (2 credits) but don't need the deluxe dining plan for the entire portion of our trip. I know this limits our chances for reservations to only our first and second night.

It should work. You cannot combine the credits from the DxDP and the DDP to do a meal, and you'll want to use all those DxDP credits before using the DDP just to avoid any hassle, but you should be okay.

We were planning on doing CRT for dinner the first night and then another TS for L or dinner the next day. I would imagine that even though we will be in our second/regular dining plan that it would use up the remaining credits from the deluxe plan.

If I were to split between DxDDP and regular DDP I would do any buffets/AYCTE type fixed price places under regular DDP and try to do a signature sit down where you order off the menu for the DxDDP portion, because you get an appetizer with DxDDP but don't with DDP. So I'd probably save CRT for later in the trip and do california grill or narcoossees first night :)

Technically, I'm not sure if this will work because most of the time, the dining plan cannot be added to one night only stays. However, that's for a traditional ticketless package - I'm not sure how that would work with DVC.

You can add the dining plan to DVC stays for any length of stay :)

What you are planning will work. I've done it several times. Are you planning on CRT the night you arrive or the second night? If the second night just make SURE they take the credits from the first ddp. You should have different magic bands anyway, but just be aware.
