And it saddens me that I actually think like this. I got out of the car to go to work today and this car pulled right next to me and needed to know how to get to Long Island. .. I saw who the person was inside. He was foreign (I don't know where. But for some reason I just thought.. Iraqi) and was wearing a vest.

All of a sudden I'm thinking: "Oh dear GOD. I am not going to get blown up by a suicide bomber today." so I start backing up. And giving him the answer at the same time.

Do you find yourself stereotyping people from seemingly the Middle East when you see them?

It breaks my heart, I have a good friend who is Afaginastan (sp?) and on 9/11 he was walking to work and a man ran out of his house yelling at him, "Look what you did, look what you did!" Well, poor Afselle, had no clue and asked the man what he was talking about, they went into his home and he saw on TV the attacks. He started crying, trying to explain to this man he had nothing to do with it, He loves America. He was so heartbroken. He still crys, he came here because we are the land of the free, and he is very patriotic. He's is a good man, but now people are afraid of him and they treat him terrible. He calls me "my very friend, with the sun in your eyes" He's a sweetheart.
