but which longhouse out of Rarotonga, Samoa and Tokelau would be best for a four person family of two adults, one teen and one pre-teen and why? I hate to sound so "teacheristic" but I need to know to decide.

I have stayed at the Poly a couple of times with our next stay this July. We have stayed at Tokelau, Tahiti and am now requesting Samoa. I think Tokelau would be good as it is close to the quiet pool. With my kids getting older the quiet pool is nice for an afternoon swim without all the little ones- the volcano pool can be crowded. We thought Tahiti was too far away. We requested quiet side of Samoa to be even closer to GCH and both pools.
By the way I am travelling with my DH, a 16 year old, and two 13 year olds.
I will be giving them more freedom and wanted to be closer to all of the activities. Have fun...you will love the Poly no matter where you end up.

i always request samoa. if you stay in rarotonga you might get stuck with a parking lot view. samoa is also a smaller building so the hallways seem alot quieter. and lastly it is very close to the monorail, restaurants, beach + both pools. hope this helps...have a great trip!!!
