I did read it, but (never having seen it before) it doesn't look like a lodge type hotel to me. And if this is how it normally looks, you wouldn't all be making such a fuss, I'm guessing.
Are you talking about the photo in the first post? That's of the castle in WDW for the 25th anniversary in 1997 or so, I'm pretty sure. Nothing at all to do with the Grand Californian or the post - it's part of her signature. If that wasn't what you were talking about - sorry for over-explaining!
We recorded it (6:00 am PST!!) and watched it later today. I was really disapointed that she didn't show the bedroom(s) of the Whitney Suite. Hello!! it's Great Hotels! not Great Theme Parks!!! I would have liked alot more on the hotel and alot less of DCA!

I'm sorry to have confused you This is just a picture of my kids in front of the castle at WDW during the 25th anniversary celebration. My post was about the show on the travel channel.
And yes darph nader it was the great hotel one with ms. brown.
boosmom96- I also wanted to see into the bedroom. They showed too much park and not enough Hotel!
I love that Great Hotels segment, just due to the fact that Disney Sis and I were in line to go on California Screaming when they were recording the segment for the ride. Samantha Brown and crew had one track to themselves. Wanted to yell out "We love you Samantha!" but my Sis put a stop to that.

They filmed the event at least a year and a half ago, if not longer. I can't recall exactly, since it kind of always feels like summer (except for our weird weather lately). I'm not sure if was off season or not, since DCA is always empty, but our wait wasn't too long.
I've seen the Grand Californian episode about 3 times now, so it's been awhile.
If I remember correctly when she was looking around the room she picked up a schedule that was left with various other brochures and I think the date was June 2003.
i assume that disney's pr department sets it up so that the media has rides to theirselves. either by closing the rides or giveing them special access.
