This just out about SDMT opening!

Disney announced from the beginning that the mine train would open in Spring of 2014......but it's only Disney so their announcements about their own rides don't mean nothing....

No, actually they didn't. They originally said late 2013. I did a google on this earlier, and it wasn't difficult to find links to back that up.

So your point is??? Ohh wait you do not have a point. :duck:

I guess since this looks like it will not impact you (if you trip ticker is correct), I can understand why you do not care, but for those of us it is impacting, we care. Sorry if you can not understand.

Disney is constantly going to be building new rides. Everytime I have gone in the last few years, I'm always "missing" something that is "about" to open:
New Fantasyland a couple of years ago, Spice Road Table last fall, 7DMT this February.

And if you don't go as often as I do, then think of all the other things that will be completed by the time you do return. It won't just be 7DMT, but who knows?

Um...as a park visitor last November and this February, if Disney handled MM+ very well...I certainly missed it! :)
What disney didn't handle well is they didn't inform their CMs enough and didn't prepare them for what was coming. As for all the technical roll outs they have been fine rolling this out. Also the app that runs this hasn't been doing that great but overall I don't think disney could have rolled this out any better.

So by that logic, they should tell us that Avatarland will be completed in 2020. This way, when it opens in late 2017, no one will be disappointed.

DHS seems prime for some attention. We have been noticing it more and more and hearing the same from others. Hopefully its something cool and not just a bunch of lame Tatooine overlays. Glad they built the 7dmt. Don't care if its a kiddie coaster, its a kiddie park :confused3 It's not a thrill ride for me but it is for a 4yo. Let them have a little fun every now and then tooo. :)
I definitely think DHS is next I mean Epcot has two million more visitors than DHS yes both need work but DHS needs it first and foremost.

That's less than 2 years for demolition of existing area (Camp Minnie Mickey,) design of, building of, and testing of: A. An E-ticket flying simulator B. Pandora Boat ride (probably unique technology to recreate flora-fauna) C. unique restaurants and shops Plus, keep in mind that Disney is in NO rush. None. Their attendance continues to rise, as do their profits. Even when the HP hullabaloo is over at Universal, Disney will continue to be a place where a week isn't long enough to see everything. And just when the shine is off the polish at Avatarland, they'll announce Star Wars Land. Yeah, WDW is on the decline for sure!
Well they have demolished the avatar area completely mostly rubble thats left to be removed. I've also been hearing rumors that the boat ride may be on the chopping block. And I'm pretty sure they said 2017 not 2016.

The entire market has been up in the last 2-3 years. I have an entire portfolio of stocks that have doubled in value.

Whereas I think I have no idea how long it should have taken. I haven't been on the ride yet, nor am I a structural engineer. Nor was I bankrolling this project.

I can tell you this much. I've been building my house for three years. We have yet to break ground. Why? Oh, I don't know. Took a year to settle on a blueprint (which I designed) and pick out tile, counters, etc... took another year to switch builders.... took another year to fine tune things, get permits, wait for the worst winter in SouthEastern Michigan's history. I thought we'd be in a YEAR ago. Alas, it will be another 10 months at least. Stuff happens. Why no rush? Because we're not in a rush.

I'll resort to the latter if its open in June, I can't get a FP+ and I get trampled at RD by a family and their double-wide stroller en route to the ride....

Exactly. Why is this taking so long? Because they have absolutely no need to hurry. The only people who are the slightest bit worried about racing to "keep up with Universal" are right here on these boards.
This coming from a Disney stockholder who has seen my stock double in value in the last 2-3 years.

Grr... What is Dinsey doing?! They had years to build this ride...

And to all the people saying people should not complain, hey we are paying top dollar and disney said it would open Spring 2014. End of May or beginning of June is Summer for all practical purposes NOT Spring 2014.... This is ridiculous. I really was thinking we would be able to ride it. I will not be able afford to go to disney again for years. :furious:

How is end of May/beginning of June NOT spring???? Whatever other complaints people have may or may not be valid depending on your point of view... but if someone says "spring"... I assume they mean "spring" :confused3

I agree end of May early June thats spring. The majority of June is spring so if they say spring it could fall anytime during that season.

I thought they said early 2017? Disney springs is set for an early 2016 opening.

Totally forgot about Disney Springs.

Too bad Disney doesn't ever build anything at WDW. Since 2012, just an MK expansion, three new resorts or DVC, complete overhaul of DTD, and Avatarland on the horizon.

Slackers.

It should have been 2x that and in half the time!!

We will be there May 24-31. I would really love it if 7DMT was operating, but after an abnormally cold, long winter here in the south, I'm not going to let it affect my vacation one iota if it isn't. A ride not opening "on time" is very small compared to day to day problems of this world. Fuss if you like, but I'm just going to keep singing my Disney songs and counting down the days till I am back at WDW, 7DMT or no 7DMT.:cool1:

Exactly I put an interesting article on the news and rumors board. This article states 20 new things that will come by 2017. Disney is building and doing things it's just not necessarily something people want. Disney is also creating a whole new main hub which really is great for congestion.

I didn't say any kind of logic. Someone stated a fact, that Disney said all along that it would open in spring 2014. That is factually incorrect, and there are links to prove it. I can't speak for anyone else, but I appreciate accuracy when someone states facts.

All I said in my post before that was that I *understood* why some may be getting impatient at this point. I didn't say I agreed, I didn't say I was impatient, I didn't say anything about Disney handling it poorly. I simply said I understood why some may feel impatient.

It's never what people "want."

Sorry, wasn't really meant to comment on your logic, per se. Just the "its taking too long...should have opened in __________ (insert date here)" comments.

Our first visit to MK was in Jan and our first time on POC had some glitches but we loved it anyway. Ride broke down a couple times during our fp reservation window so no fp and then it broke down when we rode stand by and we sat there for almost a half hour. We were happy to experience it though, much happier than not riding at all.

Point being Disney offers fp for a ride that was not very reliable in functioning ability during my first experience on it. I just can't understand why they would not be offering it on SDMT. Especially offering at least on a limited basis during the time frame that they were inviting the public to come see it. If Disney demands that rides function with no glitches then someone should let them know about POC and some other rides that broke down during my visit.

I personally think this whole dragging out of the opening past "spring, 2014" has something to do with hype, press and demand and not ride safety or functionality. It's just too bad that many people scheduled their trips for late spring to see this new ride, we arrive next Saturday, and now it reportedly may not be open.

I will b there May 18-25 and was hoping it will b open then!

They did but I was asked when I wanted it to open. Realistically if they cared they could make it happen by then. Instead they will take their sweet time and it will in fact open perhaps by 2019.
