I was so happy to find this thread here on the DIS.
I am so happy that I can say that my 30 day avg Fasting Blood Sugar is 90.
I joined Weight Watchers 10 weeks ago. Curves 2 weeks ago. My doctor has taken me off of insulin. I am on two oral agents for my diabetes. Life is good.
I have changed some of my old habits for sure. I am an emotional eater and I have been successful in doing other things when I feel intense emotions... I blog, journal, walk, play on the boards, read, drink water, think about my health over all, and many other things instead of driving through a fast food joint for a bag of "artery clog." That was one of my favorite ways of coping. Driving through and eating fries and some other nasty food. I even had the nerve to drink full sugared sodas.
I haven't done that in awhile, this is a victory for me.
I have lost 8.2 lbs so far but I continue to press on. It is sloooow progress. But the numbers on the scale aren't the only important thing. That is my focus. The fact that my blood sugars are under control. I expect a 6 H1AC in September.
