This is us..

That
I think we've been through this before, but a friend and I were talking and we can't figure it out.

When did William move from the apartment in Pittsburgh, and do we know why? He was in Pittsburgh when Rebecca first visited him, right? And I think they said that he was in the same apartment when she visited him the second time which is how she found him. But on Thanksgiving, Randall runs out to go to the apartment and says he'll be back after the movie. Pittsburgh is over 5 hours from New Jersey, and there is no way that Randall was gone for over 10 hours. Also, William takes the bus back and forth to feed the cat in the beginning. Then he goes to a meeting that is nearer his apartment hoping to reconnect with Jesse. It doesn't seem that he could be traveling so far each time, so the apartment must be closer to them than Pittsburgh. Or are we missing something?

That is a really good question! I'm curious, too. Maybe learning the answer will be how we get more backstory of his time with Jesse? I definitely think, with the flashback format of the show, that even though the characters have lost William, we, as the audience, still have more to see.

I think this will come out in the backstory. He was no longer in Pittsburgh. I don't think so anyway. They showed a very small apartment when Rebecca visited him. It was very white, no decorations etc. Basically a studio. When Randall, in the pilot episode, goes to confront William, he is in a nicer apartment. I think we will learn more about what happened when we see the flashbacks.

Just a quick bump to remind everyone that we have a new episode tonight :)

Hopefully it's a little cheerier than the last episode..

Last weeks was so much better. This one was just meh to me. Glad Beth got her good bye from William with the postcard. Don't blame Randal going off on his partner and co workers for the unpersonal card and pears.

I knew Jack's demise would be his drinking....wonder if he had to go pick up Kate from somewhere while he was drinking. But in the previews that was a lot of cans in the car.

It wasn't as bawl-worthy as last week. I really appreciated that actually because last week made me seriously reconsider watching his show at night when it airs. It just wrecked me.

Tonight's episode was awesome. Loved Chrissy Metz, she was really so good tonight.

He was on his way to Cleveland after Kate asked him if everything was ok between Jack and Rebecca. That is why she feels guilty, because he wouldn't have gone if she hadn't said anything.

I was thinking he took Kate's advice and went to see Rebecca and she blames herself.

But we did see a scene way early on where Rebecca told Jack he had to stop drinking or she would leave. So she must be back from her tour then. But you could be right. Have to wait and see how it plays out.

Meh..not my favourite episode.

It was good, don't get me wrong, but there was something about it and I just can't put my finger on it.

Everyone has such a big turn ahead..Randall quitting and having to decide what now..Kevin with a Hollywood opportunity (that I hope he takes) and Kate is getting ready to get married and unload her guilt about Jack.

Next week is the season finale already and I have a feeling we will be left with a ton of frustrating cliff hangers.

Wasn't that from the beginning of the season when the kids were younger? They discussed it and until she decided to go on tour he had toned way down on his drinking. Started again on Valentine's Day.

That scene of her leaving was so very painful to watch. I kept saying, no, no, no. No matter what was going on between us, there is no way I could part with my husband like that. In the after show Mandy Moore puts that all on Jack and I think as part of a couple it was on Rebecca too. Make the guys in the van wait, make your husband talk to you. Or at least try. And Jack, well, I wanted to smack him for that parting.

Hell yeah for Randall quitting!

I've got to disagree about the episode. I thought it was fantastic. I'm sad there's only one episode left and it will most likely leave us heartbroken.

I was thinking that too. It would also explain her icy relationship with her mother. She probably blames her for going on tour & causing the chain of events. Then they keep saying we won't know what happened for a while so then I wonder!
My favorite part was when Kate ran outside & she thought it was Toby following her & it was Randall.

We haven't seen a lot of Kate and Randall so it was good to see them interact.

i think Jack goes to see Rebecca and drives the 2 hour drive drunk. He must get in an accident and dies. Kate feels guilty because she encouraged him to go to Rebecca, then he called Kate at the party and told her he was taking her advice and was going to fix things with Rebecca.

Loved how the girls planned the memorial. Loved when Randall said he would give a eulogy and the daughter said, "that sounds sad" and Randall said, "Well, we'll call it a toast then."

Loved when Beth got the postcard.
