This is us..

It doesn't look like something I usually watch, but I thought I'd check it out and see.

That's what I thought too, but DW watched it and flipped out over how good it was. It was much better than I expected, I'll certainly watch another episode.

You see cigarette before any background people and their clothes
THe cigarette tells you this was long ago

Yes I realize smoking in hospitals was a thing of the past, I just thought it was funny that that wasn't what clicked for me, it was the dated clothes.

I DVR'd it and watched it last night, unfortunately I am a sucker for spoilers and knew the twist, but I still loved it. I loved the scene when Randell is freaking out/laughing over his father with his wife, very real. I love Milo Ventimiglia, so even if it was so/so I would stick with it for a while, but I thought it was very good. DH even said he would watch it, even though it is not his style.

I reserve judgement of the show until I've seen more. It seemed a little touchy feely and too unrealistic for my taste so far. But I will probably give it a second week. I am trying to figure out how they are going to keep the plot going and make interesting story lines now that they already revealed the thing that ties them together.

I think there is a lot of potential for interesting story-telling by weaving together the timelines of how these guys were raised, their parents struggles etc with who they are today and how they turned out.

Before the show started, I was half hoping it would flop so Justin Hartley would come back to Y&R, but I really liked the pilot. I think Genoa City will have to learn to live without him, lol

My grandmother messed with the TV and cancelled the recording. :headache: It looks like it's on again over the weekend, so I'm going to try this again.

It has potential. Good story line but too choppy and cliché. A lot like Code Black. I'll give it some more time because I gotta get my Justin Hartley fix. And if I can stick out Fear TWD as long as I have, then I surely can watch an entire season of this show.

Loved it! Do you think this will continue to be a flashback type of show where we will see them growing up or do you think it will just be in the present day and they will recast the parents?

I read a synopsis (possibly from the creator) that said 'imagine you have a box of videos of your life and you randomly pick them out and watch them with no rhyme or reason'. So I think we're in store for a lot of time-hopping.

I finally saw the last 10 minutes. I totally loved this show. I think the writing and acting were great. I hope it does well. It's on a tad late for me so I will be watching it later in the week, but man, it's fantastic!

Ooooh, Grandma would have gotten a beat-down for that at my house ;) similar to when my DH cancelled the last 3 episodes of Tyrant including the series finale to record re-runs of Ice Road Truckers :furious:.

And, what happened to the parents.

I've been waiting for this to come on because the previews looked great. It surely did not disappoint! I really liked all the characters and am eager to see what the writers do with them. I loved it, but usually when I love a new show it gets cancelled by the fourth episode so I hope this time the network will give it a fair shot.

I watched it and really liked it. I kind of started questioning "something" when the doctor was sitting with him and talking after he delivered the babies. I thought the chairs were old looking and why was he in the ambulance bay. Once he pulled out the cigarette it all clicked for me. Can't wait for next week.
