This Is Us- Season two

Is the man who gave them the crockpot the same Man who answered the door to that house Kevin went to? That everyone thinks is the spot of the original Pearson home. I Swear it’s the same guy.

The numbers were way, way different. They can’t just put any old number on a new house..they have to stay in sequence.

I don't think so, but they do look a lot alike. According to IMDB, George in "That'll Be the Day" was played by Jack McGee, and he's only credited with one episode of This Is Us. The new owner in "Number One" was played by Andy Forrest.

We have a crockpot that is about 45 years old. I can’t believe it myself, but we’ve been married for 48 years this June, and it was a Christmas gift from a friend a year or two into our marriage. It looks similar to the one shown, but it works great. We keep saying that we should get a new, larger one, but we find that the old appliances last longer than the newer ones. We’ve given our adult children Crockpots for gifts and have even replaced them. We’re always home when we use it now, and always unplug it when not in use, and put it away. It’s something that doesn’t get used a lot, and there are no loose wires, or faulty switches. If that was the case we would throw it out. I think that Jack will die from smoke inhalation after going back into then house to save the dog. Luckily, with the magic of TV, we’ll get to see him in every episode. I’m not crying about him, as I have suffered too many real life losses to cry over a TV show these days.

Just watched it on amazon today. The end was so tough to watch knowing what was coming but not exactly how it would play out. Watching the photos and keepsakes burn and the memories behind everything... ugh... tragic. I know it's fiction, but it represents the tragedies that happen in real life, and how people deal with them and how they are permanently changed by them, etc. I am kind of dreading the next couple of episodes.

As soon as he got the envelope I knew the necklace was inside. Great acting by Justin in that scene - I think his hands were even shaking as he opened it.

Jack thought Randall was Kevin coming home. Guess, Rebecca didn't tell him that he was staying at Sophie's? Hmmm.

That was one theory. that maybe Jack didn't know Kevin was away for the night so he goes back in thinking Kevin it still in the house. I just don't see it because IMO, Rebecca would be absolutely wracked with guilt. First, she left the crockpot on. Yes, Jack switched it off, but she does not know that, she was sleeping upstairs. She was cleaning up the kitchen, then was tired so just left the kitchen a mess with the crockpot on to go to bed.

Then, if she neglected to tell him about Kevin and it caused him to run back in and die, that would be a double whammy of guilt. Like not being able to function guilt.

The night of the fire Rebecca is in bed, but not wearing the Steelers jersey. The day when Rebecca drives up to the burned home with Jack’s belongings on the car seat next to her, she is wearing the Steelers jersey. Hard to speculate the timeline of Jack’s death based on those observations.

in the preview of the next episode she has the jersey on when they are scrambling during the fire.

And Jack is wearing the same shirt.

Plausible that these were on the floor of the bedroom and the easiest, quickest clothes to put on to get out of the house.

Wonder what the crock pot company feels about it?

Does anyone listen to the morning radio show Elvis Duran? They have been doing a free money phone tap every morning. The last week or so it has been sponsored by Crockpot. You call in after listening to the phone prank, and the 100th caller wins $1k and a crockpot.

This morning they added to their little spiel about the crockpot that if any wires are frayed or damaged to throw the crockpot away and get a new one. I have to think that the crockpot company had them add that in this morning. I am sure they are not pleased....

That's funny. Maybe instead of ruining the crockpot industry, it will result in a boon to sales as everyone replaces their old ones with newer models! I never gave it another thought until the show this week. Ours is 33 years old.

As for the story line, they've really built up this fire in the plot. And I'm still saying it's too obvious for such a well written show for them to have made this so obvious. I'm still thinking there will be a big twist.

I definitely agree there is going to be some sort of twist. I can't wait!!!

Agreed. We know for sure there will be a fire but that’s it. They said Jack’s death will be revealed before the end of the season but that doesn’t mean the two are exclusive. Too much pointing to the fire while there’s a lot of little hints before that don’t add up. Just because Rebecca has his things in the car when she drives up to the burnt out house doesn’t mean he’s dead at that point. I’ve taken possession of many people’s belongings while they’re in the hospital. Kevin is not in a cast in the funeral scene. And then there’s Kevin destroying the model airplanes after Jack dies. I would hope the writers wouldn’t be that sloppy to forget these things. While I’m braced for it I don’t think we’ll be seeing Jack die next week.

I think we will see him die. The previews last week said, "All questions will be answered." If they were not going to tell us how he died, that would be a huge unanswered question.
