This Is Us- Season two

Haven't posted here in awhile, but I just finished last nights episode. First, Kate and the dog. I really hated her when she was going to leave the dog at the shelter. I just wanted to reach out and slap her. But when Toby first saw Audio...omg, I cried. May be silly to cry over a dog, but yeah, I did. lol

As for the next episode, I don't think I'm ready. Yes, we've known it's coming. Yes, we've known it has something to do with the fire. But to actually see the fire start....not sure I'm ready for it. Ever since a scare at my house when I was a little girl, fire has been one of my biggest fears. I know I'll still watch it, but it will have to be a alone, with no make-up on, and a BIG box of tissues. And maybe a bottle of vodka. ;-)

How will they do the show without Jack

I think they will continue the same format of the show, which is showing us the past and the present. If they were no longer going to have Jack be a part of the show, that would mean no more going back to the timeline of the big three being young kids, and the timeline of them being teens. If that were the case, they would no longer need Jack, or the six actors that play the big three in those timelines. It would all be in the present timeline. I just can't see them doing that.

My crockpot is over 27 years old and still works like a charm LOL. I have an Instant Pot too, but it does not function well as a crock pot.
I think Audio was definitely some type of terrier mix, maybe mixed with Pug? He sure was cute! I cried when she left him there and I cried wh
Okay, I'm going to say, I don't think Jack dies in the fire. I think something happens to him at the new fixer-upper house. That would explain the two house numbers. I think they're going to have to move into that house, super-quick, because this house burned down.

If you remember, when the kids are at someone else's house, they have the dog with them, and nobody knows where Kevin is (because he and Sophie went to the party in the woods). They aren't devastated because their dad died, their upset because they lost their house (IMHO--worth what you paid for it!). And it's a "day they'll always remember"--at first, because it's the last Superbowl before the kids leave for college, but later because it's their last night in the house they grew up in.

Funny little story--my DD22 is launched and lives 800 miles away, but I hooked her on this show during one of her home visits (maybe last Christmas? Season 1, for sure). She said she'd catch up on demand, because she's a young adult, that's how they watch TV, right, so I didn't even consider that she'd watch the show when it aired. Last night at 10:02 I get a text: "How much are you going to cry next week?" I replied: "Are you kidding? I was tearing up during the preview!"

I was wondering if the note he left for Kevin was a clue too , maybe he went to work early and wasn't even home when the fire broke out. I will have to watch again , can't remember if they showed him getting up and running in the hall. None of the kids look like they are in smoky clothes, were they not fully dressed at Mugiel's. It's a long wait to see how it all plays out...lol

I just watched at work on my lunch break... had to really try hard not to sob out loud at my desk!!

The preview shows Jack opening his bedroom door to flames.

I didn't interpret the note that way. I thought it was just a note. The whole fire scene, my impression was that the fire was just destroying everything--big and little, important and insignificant. Just the ordinary things in a typical home of a regular family--all gone up in smoke. That's what makes it so relateable--that could be anybody's kitchen, with photos on the fridge and a measuring chart on the wall.

I think Jack is home, it shows him opening the bedroom door in the preview and he is shouting to Kate to hold her breath. I believe the only one not home is Kevin since he is with Sophie.

Milo Ventimiglia is listed to appear in all episodes on imdb, so I don't think Jack is really going anywhere.

I agree, because they would have to change the whole format of the show going between timelines if they did not intend to show Jack anymore. It would only be in the present timeline if they suddenly did away with the other timelines. And as I said upthread, that would mean no more big three as kids or teens.

I do hope we get to see some of the post-funeral and Miguel stuff. I still don't get how she married him lol!

I am much more likely to cry over a dog than a person LOL.
And last night I also cried over a necklace!!!!!!!

I keep going back and forth between "Jack is injured rescuing the dog and later dies in the hospital"

and "everyone survives the fire, but Jack dies very soon after, in some way we completely don't expect!"

Is the man who gave them the crockpot the same Man who answered the door to that house Kevin went to? That everyone thinks is the spot of the original Pearson home. I Swear it’s the same guy.

I don’t think so. He was old and that was 17 years before the fire. Add another 36? 37? and it’s doubtful he’s still alive.
