This Is Us- Season two

The people that the crockpot/ were the same people that said there had a young couple coming to look at the house wasn't it
No. That older couple existed in the time when Rebecca was pregnant. The older couple whose house Jack and Rebecca were planning to see existed in the time when the triplets were 17. Different time, different older couple.

I can't even process what I just watched the last 5 minutes of the show and and the note that Jack left for Kevin and the last person Kevin had to make amends for left me shaking and crying. I dunno if I can watch the next show.

How is it possible the people they were going to buy the house from, are the same people they got the crockpot from years from earlier.

lovedKate and the puppy
Loved Randall and Kevin working together
Glad Kevin got Jack necklace back

Those were not the people they were buying the house from. It was a flash back. They made us think that it was the house Jack and Rebecca were going to buy to start big three construction (When Rebecca said she contacted the realtor about a house to buy, I actually thought, "oh that's why they showed that older couple cleaning out their garage, This is the house Jack and Rebecca buy".) They made us think that Jack and Rebecca were buying the house form the older couple cleaning out the garage. In reality, they were totally different people and the people cleaning out the garage were really Jack and Rebeccas neighbors, back when she was preggo. Neighbors who pawned off their faulty crockpot to them.

I didn't even feel like crying. I simply felt immediately sick to my stomach. I can't even imagine. There were a couple of tragic fires in my neighbourhood when I was a child, it's just unimaginable what people must go through during it and losing loved ones. One of my friends lost two brothers. I can't even go there in my mind when parents get out and their children don't. Horrifying. My father was a firefighter and he told me that he often found people alive that were low to the ground that he assumed were dead. Thank God fire safety has improved so much over the years. Just horrifying to think about. Anyway, don't know why I am rambling about fire safety, I guess it's all too emotional.

The memories of each item as they burned almost did me in.

All you Toby lovers here's something from a "Toby is way too much for me" person ----

That scene was joy inducing. Just exquisitely done. Good on Kate.

omg you guys..

Way, way too much to process it all.

Ugh

I didn’t realize it until tonight’s show but my husband and I are EXACTLY like Randall and Beth. He’s always go go go and I’m the one saying sloooow down. Plus, he worships me LOL

it was a really good twist to have us think that the Pearsons were buying the elderly couples house. We should know better by now lol

As soon as I saw the light on the crockpot I gasped..and then said oh good, he turned it off. I think I stopped breathing when they showed the neighbour giving them the faulty crockpot. I can forgive Jack for not unplugging it..he was in the afterglow of love.

How awful for Kevin that his last conversation with his dad went the way it did. No wonder he feels so guilty. I totally teared up when he turned over his make amends list and it said Dad..UGH

I, too, think that they all escape the fire and Jack goes back for the dog. On an aside, what kind of dog is Audio? You all know I’m not a pet person but I would consider getting an Audio.

I think it might be harder next week to see everyone reacting to Jacks death. It will be so raw. Anyone else think maybe Jack survives the fire and dies in the hospital hours/days later? What if he goes into a coma and they have to pull the plug? That would be vicious!

Last thought, Kevin/Justin is really, really attractive. Holy cow..

Okay, I'm going to say, I don't think Jack dies in the fire. I think something happens to him at the new fixer-upper house. That would explain the two house numbers. I think they're going to have to move into that house, super-quick, because this house burned down.

If you remember, when the kids are at someone else's house, they have the dog with them, and nobody knows where Kevin is (because he and Sophie went to the party in the woods). They aren't devastated because their dad died, their upset because they lost their house (IMHO--worth what you paid for it!). And it's a "day they'll always remember"--at first, because it's the last Superbowl before the kids leave for college, but later because it's their last night in the house they grew up in.

Funny little story--my DD22 is launched and lives 800 miles away, but I hooked her on this show during one of her home visits (maybe last Christmas? Season 1, for sure). She said she'd catch up on demand, because she's a young adult, that's how they watch TV, right, so I didn't even consider that she'd watch the show when it aired. Last night at 10:02 I get a text: "How much are you going to cry next week?" I replied: "Are you kidding? I was tearing up during the preview!"

I would think Rebecca would be the one to feel guilt if Jack died in the fire since she left the crockpot on. That is why I don't think he dies in the fire.

oh where to begin.

First of all, SO glad Kate got that dog because I kind of hated her for a minute when she thought of her own feels ahead of Toby's once again - her first reaction always seems to be self centered and then she comes around after thinking about it but for a second I thought OH NO she didn't just tell this dog he has a home and then left him there! Just about died when she caught Toby looking at his laptop and he admitted to looking at puppies LOL

I was a little mad at George for giving them the faulty crockpot but then remembered they had it for 17 years and it worked just fine...leaving it plugged in such a simple mistake, devastating consequences. One we can all relate to, the batteries were taken out of our kitchen smoke detector and left that way for weeks. So stupid (they're replaced now) I've also fallen asleep with candles and warmers burning. :scared:

Watching the house burn, the wall with their heights, I lost it =( none of that can be replaced.

I really don't think he dies in the fire, it just doesn't make any sense that they would walk us right into how when where he died when they are notorious for their twists (like the old couple selling their house to the younger couple - thinking it was Jack and Rebecca but it was actually 17 years earlier)

Side note, so glad Kevin got his necklace back.

I recently had an old crockpot bite the dust. The wires were exposed, and I kept meaning to replace it. I plugged it in one day, and POP, smoke, the wire was no longer attached to the crockpot. The new dog reminds me of my rescue, I was so glad she changed her mind.

I think to me he looks like a boxer mix to me

TV is bad for my health. :sad2: I was planning on making stew in the crock pot today, and now I'm second guessing it since I'll be out of the house for a little while later to pick up kiddo from school. We have an old house and some of the outlets don't work. Off to check the smoke detectors...

On another message board, someone posted this:
I follow this is us on Twitter. Ken Olin posted that there is a show after the super bowl. Based on what he wrote, that's the episode we will see how Jack died.

Sort of makes sense. Remember that the ENTIRE cast of "This is Us" will be on The Tonight Show airing the night of the Super Bowl, which will be right after that episode airs. Interesting. I want more than ever to get those tickets to that taping!
