This Is The Place For You If You Enjoy Being Last...

Phew. Caught up
Been busy you all have.
Waiting for the bus home I am.
Feeling vindicated I am ;)
War at work could never be won or lost. I'm too stubborn for my own good and should have been more diplomatic. But. My reason for being so frustrated and at war was demonstrated by the other side :teeth:

Got a Scottish workmate now who's quite funny. And very Scottish. :lmao:
He was out of the office all day but following email tag.
When he came back he asked what was happening. Explained a bit then he said.
Right.
I was pissing myself laughing on the train. It was three paragraphs but she's basically told him to &@@$$ off :lmao:

Yup. I did. But in the nicest possible way.
And everybody agrees with my feelings. They just don't say it.

Ahh. Nearly home. Hungry.
And it's about a month until my birthday.

From a fellow Taurean to another....The best advice I ever got from another (older) Taurean colleague when I was younger....he phrased it along these lines....

"I understand how you feel. It really really frustrating KNOWING that you're right and no one else seems to see the %$#%# obvious the way we do.
But...consider pausing for 10 seconds before you open your mouth. When you do open your mouth, repeat what THEY said FIRST. Then provide your viewpoint. If nothing else, it will make the other side feel like you're considering what they have said. At best, it will give you time to consider saying things differently....tactfully."

It took me a while to learn to pause before I opened my mouth. But I did eventually get the knack.
Now, people really think I'm a good listener and that I pay attention to what they said because I'm so good at repeating what I think they said first. And then when I provide my viewpoint, I get afforded the same courtesy of them listening to me.

Just by repeating back what they said gives them the impression that you're agreeing with them; but you're not really. It doesn't cost much time but it does make you appear more cooperative and open to their idea.

I'm normally VERY tactful. Only having the murmuring amongst my fellow mates...
This guy is ACTUALLY the guy who made sure I got my first contract extension. However, he went a step WAY to far.
Someone had to draw the line so I privately and tactfully spoke to the problem...

He then sent around a poorly worded email around about etiquette when sharing computer files (such that he sounded an idiot actually) around CC'ing all the high and mighty.
This has backfired seriously on him tbh.
I was blunt but very 'polite' in my response. And then after the response from the lord of computer files was backed up in the errors he was making.

The fact is he is causing major problems and delays in the job. And the thing that spurred me on was that last night two of the high and mighty last night were talking right by my table about OUR office being in charge...not him...

So...

So......TGIF and it'll probably blow over by Moonday???

We can only hope.

I still have to download pictures from one more memory card from my set and I've lost track of the number of pictures I've come home with. But I think I'll end up with about 6000. Not that I'll be posting all 6K...heck, I'll cause the Dis server to crash if I did that!

DH has taken about 2K. I'm just downloading his as well. There are some there that are swipe-worthy.

This TR is going to take MONTHS! :headache:

How's your trip planning going?

Monday is the deadline we are aiming for which is why there are high tensions as it is.
It'll blow over. The new Scottish guy (who's a high and mighty) coming back into the office at the end of the day and seeing the last stunt of the afternoon has settled things into calmer.
It'll blow over as he from the 'other' office in that southern city will be lessened in his involvement so I'm told.

Anyways :lmao:

I hope you enjoy your photos and writing your TR. Sounds like it was more eventful and noone likes ending with illness, but to have taken that many photos you must have been having fun.

Can't remember where I was when you left? I managed to score tickets to Highclere Castle :woohoo: so we have it, Harry Potter and Cadbury World and Alton Towers (maybe) on the list.
Nothing else is set in stone. We will be going to the pipe works, tar tunnel and other things that were closed (but part of the Ironbridge stuff.)

Which reminds me. USNUZ!!!!
The tiles are about 350-500grams. So the tile in the iron weighs about a pound. I don't know the postage rates. But I'm happy to send you something if you like. Honestly. If I can sort small packet things aren't too pricy usually.

So yeah...
sorting how to pack the stuff I've gathered to take over is this weekend's stuff as well as catching up on sleep. Hopefully.

We had heaps of fun on this holiday; there were the standard ups and downs as well.

speaking of things for Usnuz.....

Usnuz - I looked for a Dopey pin for you. Sadly, there were none at HKDL but I did get a pin for you. When I find it and have more energy, I'll get post it to you. Thanks again for the Tink you sent as a replacement for the one I broke!

I should try and get Fran to read this. Since she has never worked in a work environment her only experience in working with others is our band productions. Every little bump and she wants to quit, take her toys and go home. It makes me want to kill her.

I'm watching the news and so glad that we are leaving town, they expect 130,000 people to come to town for the Grand Prix this weekend!

The thing weighs a whole 1 pound? Iron? Yeah let me know and I will send you the money and you can send me a tile instead of the pottery. I dont know if it makes it easier to send it where you are staying. I will include money for the box and postage and that way you dont have to bring it home with you. So let me know in advance so I cant get the money to you. Thanks!

I learned to keep my mouth closed with the higher ups, they always told we could always ask questions but you get in trouble if you do.

Oh the joy of working in the working world. I had an assistant manager who got me in all kinds of trouble with the higher ups , and I had nothing to do with it and did not know she did it. In fact it was all around the company before I even knew. It started with a man who had worked for the company and had a company credit card that came with discounts and was bragging about it when he came in to use it. Well the very first meeting I ever went to as a manager , I got approached by another manger who said, do you know what your assistant did? I said no. He said she wrote a letter to a man who comes into the stores and does checking and then it went to the president of the company. She wanted to know why all the employees didnt get this kind of credit card!:scared1::scared1: She did this from home not work. I got the lecture. I asked my boss what am I suppose to do. She did it from home not on company time. I said I cant write her up for that. Well I was on the hit list from then on. I watched someone get promoted to take a new store and this person couldnt even do their own resets, and got more money. Then he wanted me to take her old store and clean it up. I refused. Then I got sent to the boon docks and sent to a store that was 70 miles round trip everyday. Oh the joys. I got bullied even when I did not say anything.
