DH used to be the photographer in the family. When I first wanted to shoot fireworks, he was *almost* patronising about the fact that I wanted to go with 4 second long exposures. He'd never tried it nor seen pictures (but then he'd never really had the Dis photoboard either).
Since I've been taking the fireworks shots, he's been trying to catch up.
It's funny how it's happened the photography thing. I'm the photographer within my local circus...but none of us have ever been SLR people (since they were the only option aka Before me)
DBF loves his DSLR and I do want to learn. But I just haven't had the time or dedication. One day I'll get him to teach me.
I've been eyeing the developments in the P&S and DSLR realm...
There's so much new coming out and changes that I'm not going to buy anything until I'm sure I'm willing to learn and have the patience for it.
I'd actually really like a Lytro camera just for fun
I've grown up an Olympus girl so like the Olympus XZ-1...and ones like that.
That's what I mean about the developments...they are starting to blur the lines with P&S and SLR...
So until I've got the time and willingness to learn I'm not spending the $$ on anything...
All but inside and nighttime photos I can get pretty good photos. The Cruise shots I'm really happy with. Even the dusk ones.
And some of those pharmacy ones in the Blists hill report are mine. As are some of the tile ones including all the Fusion Gallery ones.
All the Queen Mary shots are mine.
Going to start getting ready for bed. Hope you have a nice night a nice day off tomorrow.
It's a day off anyway for Melbourne right? I remember our Melbourne and Adelaide offices mentioning something. I guess that's irrelevant to you though.
Do you ever get Public Holiday pay?
I guess Anzac Day and Australia Day can land on a working day for you. And Good Friday...
I had a long hard think about my working days when I decided on part time. In the end I figured I would have a long weekend every weekend rather than just waiting for the 7 or 8 public holidays that fall on Monday.
New Year's Day, Anzac Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Melbourne Cup, Christmas Day. They are pretty random and it's a case of you win some, you lose some.
Sleep well. I'm going to get off the computer soon as well. We're planning on getting into the city early tomorrow and marking out some territory for the parade. They've change the route this year...so I have no idea where to go place my X. We'll see.
