This is a great help for all information on the BC. If anyone has recently stayed there could you tell me if the construction is still in progress.

I am thinking of staying here next trip. I can only afford standard. Is there a standard room location that would be close to the stormalong bay?? thanks.amy I would not care about the veiw. I would just like convienence to the pool.

No construction that we could see. BC villas look complete and landscape is beautiful. Access to the pool is great from almost anywhere because the pool stretches so wide. However, fax a request for "best pool access" about 5 days before your trip. Instructions are in Joe's BC info (the first thread). Have a great trip everyone!

The travel channel had a big special on Disney World, Thanksgiving Eve.

One of the programs was a half hour special on the Beach Club.
Very interesting.

Anyone else catch this?

My sister is has decided to stay at the Beach club in Feb since she couldn't get a standard view room at the YC and doesn't want to pay the price we are for concierge, so my question is: will she have a view of the parking lot? She won't mind but I would like to prepare her for the idea if she will. Thanks.

Hola,

Your sister does not have to look at the parking lot at all !!!! We had a very nice room overlooking the trees (and lots of butterflies) and even a view of some of the fireworks !!! The wing next to Epcot at the end is quite nice, although it's a hike to YC. I can give you room #'s if you'd like.

Better to close during the lowest attendance season with the most questionable swimming weather to maintain the complicated pool. I understand your dissapointment, but at least now there are three other alternatives for swimming within the YC/BC/BCV complex, with the three quiet pools. SAB is probably one of the more difficult pools to maintain and my understanding is that the slide is in need of attention, something about the seams hitting one's back as you slide down. I've never been down it to know for myself, but as an owner I look forward to it.

Boy those villas look beautiful in the pictures, don't they? I look forward to a first hand inspection.

Hi just found this post- i have ressies for jan 5-9 at BC- only reason I booked there( originally had WL) was for the pool and slide! Where did u find out it was going to be closed? thanks for any info. H

Check with CRO. They told me Friday that the main pirate slide area would be closed for rehab from Jan until March 31. Some of the pool areas will be open at different times for use but it sounded like the slide would be down the entire time. I already cancelled my ressie and plan to wait until next trip to try out YC/BC.

thanks so much for your reply- i wish they had told me before i made my final payment! i have the land/sea package and can't change anything- they had better compensate us in some way- we are paying enough for that resort and are not going to be receving the same amenities that we normally would!! that pool is the main reason most people book that resort- when they plan on closing it i feel they should notify you when you book it to give you the opportunity to make other arrangements if you choose! this is a special trip for us and i am soooo disappointed! my luck the virus will be brought onto the ship when i board and my whole trip will be ruined! i'm sad!

I too was disappionted when I learned this. When I told my husband and the kids, I found I was more upset by this, than they were!! They reminded me that we would still be in Disney, and if the weather was good for swimming we would enjoy what was open!
I understand your feelings but don't let it spoil your anticipation for the vacation.

Just back from the Beach Club and there is quite a lot work going on we had a fab refurbished room 2532 with a view of Spaceship Earth over some trees.

Lynn, you can definitely request a refurb. room! Call CRO and have them add it to your requests and then also ask when you check-in.

Also you can fax in room requests to the room controller 3 days prior to arrival. Email me and I'll send you my fax sheet!!

Is it still true that children cannot wear life vests on the Beach Club water slide. If so: My kids are 6, 5, and 3.5....they are not afraid of the water and they love water slides. Will we be able to stand near the bottom of the slide and sort of "catch" them?
