Marsha ~ I forgot to say hi to you!! See, I knew I was leaving someone out! So hello friend!! You're so close to you're trip. Are the girls excited?

AFM ~ Alex is on Sweet Potatoes this week and he loves them. So far the only thing he hasn't liked is green beans. Go figure. I'm considering moving him up to 2 solid meals a day. I'm not really sure what I should do. I looked at some of the schedules that some of the mom's on my due date board have their babies on and some do a full solid meal, no milk with it. My pediatrician said to do one jar of solid food and then offer him a bottle after. That's what I've been doing and it works but....I dunno. Do you guys remember what you did with your kids? Solid food totally confuses me. I'll be so glad when he's totally off the bottle.

First, soooo sorry to hear about Lexi. Ugh.

As for milk, with both of my girls, we always did breast-milk/bottle and solid foods. in fact, I would do the milk first, b/c that had the best nutrients and anti-bodies, and then I would offer solids afterwards.

it was a bit of a pain b/c it does stretch out the meals but it worked for me and I really wanted to give my girls all the good stuff from my milk for as long as possible. (I nursed for around 18 months for both).

As for solids, I think we started out right away with more than once a day.

I say find something that works for you and Alex and go with it! If he's hungry he'll eat and if he's not, he won't!:rotfl2:

No prob! yes, we are all excited. Nana and Papa (my parents) arrive to my house this evening, so the girls are so excited to see them. My parents then leave on the auto-train on Thursday (day earlier than us) to go visit their friends in FL. Then we all meet up on Saturday to check into our 2Bd savannah view room.

This is our 2nd savannah room but first at Kidani.

My parents have never stayed at AKV/AKL b/c they said it's "too dark" (which it is but it's designed to be that way). I'm really hoping they can enjoy it, even if it's not their 'cup of tea'.

Thanks! Poor girl has been hopping around for a while. It's sad but she never complains about it. I guess that's why we put it off for so long.

I do the solid first and then the bottle because that's the way my pediatrician recommended we do it. It seems to work I suppose. He'll take anywhere from 2 - 4oz after eating a whole jar of food. She also told me to offer once a day to start out with and then move up as I felt needed so that's why I did that that way. I'm such a "follow the rules" type of girl :rotfl: Not that what the pediatrician says is law but....I'm so confused by solids that I just did what she said. :confused3 What exactly did you give your girls at each meal? Did you give them cereal and milk in the morning and then mix up what you gave them for lunch/dinner? I'm thinking of trying Oatmeal in the morning for breakfast then maybe a fruit for lunch and veggie for dinner. :confused3 I feel like such a bad mommy 'cause I have no clue what the heck I'm even doing. :rolleyes: I'm usually overly prepared for things but this solid food stuff has really thrown me for a loop. I know it's not rocket science. I just want to make sure I'm doing the best I can for Alex. Anyways, thanks for the advice! It's MUCH appreciated!!

Ah so your trip is sort of already starting. How exciting!! Are you guys gonna do a movie night with your parents there before they head down?

"Too Dark" huh? :laughing: That's funny 'cause that's exactly what Chris said about that resort when I mentioned it before we landed on WL. I hope your parents can find some enjoyment out of that resort. If they don't like it then you can tell them they never have to stay there again.

Oh, my prayers are definitely with you, too!! I'm praying for such miraculous positive news that you'll be shouting it to the world. I won't even have to read it on DIS b/c your voice will echo off the clouds with God's praises!!:cloud9:

:hug::hug: :cloud9:

I'm here :lovestruc:banana::flower3:

Ok girlies...I leave on Thursday, May 19th and come home on Tuesday, May 24th! I would LOVE to meet up! Let's see how we can work this! I'll be very close to DTD so that may work. This is such an impromptu trip that I don't have a lot of plans....a few ressies and just flying by the seat of our pants!

Hi to everyone :wave2:

I need to read back!

Other than that things are good. Lexie needs surgery on her knees. Vet said it would be about $1000 per knee so we're going to do one at a time. Probably do the first one next month. Blah. Now I'm wondering if recovery is going to be like when a human has knee surgery. You need LOTS of physical therapy. We should have taken care of this while I was still pregnant. But we had other things to worry about at the time. Oh well, it'll all work out.

Thanks girl

He is feeling better today. Made it through the whole day

Poor Lexie. Hope he feeling better soon

Lets see...for breakfast.....I believe at this age..we did bottle of just formula

Then, maybe in afternoon...we did jar of baby food, like sweet potatoes and bottle of formula

Then at night..we gave him bottle with cereal..

Been long time so I could be wrong :laughing:

It's the same old, same old drama that I have been dealing with.

We did Breakfast: milk, grain (rice, oat, barley) cereal mixed with baby food fruit.

lunch: milk, baby food or pureed adult food, baby fruit

dinner: milk, baby food or pureed adult food

If she was hungry in between a meal or right before bed, we did baby fruit and rice cereal.

Wow everybody was busy today. I am sorry but I am not going to comment back on everyones posts. I am just not in the right mind set. I'm sorry.

Hi, Michele!! Sorry to hear you are down.:hug:

That sounds like how I fed our kids. Especially the fruit and cereal.

Hi Marsha, Thank you.

I am not sure what is going on with me, I mean I know that I have had all these things going on but I am usually a glass half full person.

LOVE this. I agree!!!

Yeah, I know it's cutting it close, but if it works out, I'd love to meet up with you guys.

the 20th we are in MK and the 21st our tentative plan is to be in DTD, but we have to leave around noon. Sometimes we go to a park if we have our butt in gear early enough.

If we don't meet up, just know that I"ll be saying hello to you virtually.

Where are you staying again?

We're staying off site, at the LBV Resort Village and Spa. On the 21st we will be at HS for SWW... may the force be with us... we will need it! :laughing:

I'm here :lovestruc:banana::flower3:

Hi to everyone :wave2:

I need to read back!

On the days we overlap:
20th ~ we're arriving, getting settled into the condo and then DTD for TRex and shopping
21st ~ HS for as long as we can handle the crowds but we may bail if it's too much
22nd ~ MK :cloud9:
23rd ~ NO PLANS!

We can come up with something! I'm excited! :goodvibes

:hug:

I am not sure what is going on with me, I mean I know that I have had all these things going on but I am usually a glass half full person.

I think given everything... losing your sister and then Leah's news... you are bound to start feeling like the glass is half empty, even if that isn't your normal nature. It's a lot... too much even... to process quickly. Give yourself some time to grieve, scream, cry, and curse! And don't beat yourself up over it either.

Here for you always. :hug:
