Hey, thanks girls!!

I totallly forgot about the votes...so just went and voted myself. At least my pic won't just have one lonely vote!

So now that Rachel is 6 I'm trying to introduce her to some good literature that she may enjoy.

We've been listening to the books on tape first, then watching the movie, if there is one.

So far we did "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" and "Pippi Longstocking".

We are now listening to "The Wizard of Oz". Even Elizabeth told me that "the house came right down on the bad witch" so she is definitely picking it up, too.

What other books are good ones? "The Sound of Music" is also on my list.

We haven't done Harry Potter yet...I think I'll wait until they are a bit older first.

Well, I am going to suggest a couple of classics that are among my favorites that I will still read if the desire hits. Pollyanna and Anne of Green Gables. Both are among my favorite books. Oh and there is this wonderful series of books that is written by Brian Jacques. The series is called Redwall. I love those books. They are written for kids but I know more adults that read them.

You know, I never read/saw Pollyanna nor Anne of Green Gables, so these would be good ones for me, too.

And I never heard of Redwall. I'll add them to our list.

We actually look forward to running our errands now that we are listening to the books on the road. Makes getting a red light actually a good thing!

I love them all. I am not sure you can find them in audio though. Anne of Green Gables might, and I am sure Redwall will. Pollyanna on the other hand you may have to read together. There are movies for both Pollyanna and Anne. I love those books. Brian Jacques died recently and it broke my heart because I love his books. They are about a group of animals that are loving and honorable who are forever having to protect their Abbey from marauding "bad" guy animals. There is cartoons that used to be on PBS. Pollyanna the movie is an old Disney movie starring Haley Mills, or a more current version called Polly with Keshia Knight Pulliam.
