my DD and her DBF were in WDW a last week for their 5 yr anniversary of going together!! (every year they go or do something romantic :goodvibes )

well my DD had a feeling that he was going to propose that nite.

The day came and went and nothing happened needless to say my DD was miffed!!! to say the least.

but her DBF called later on that nite to talk to my DH

yep you guessed it he asked for her hand

but what he has planned is he has ressies for the CBR for 9-18-20 and hes asking her then.

she has no clue he has this planned!!

the ring is at our house along with the confirmation both are hidden in my closet (she doenst live with us so Im not afraid of her snooping!!!

the funniest thing is my DH and myself we away last weekend well my DD DD-in -law and niece all work together so my DD gets the brainstorm since she wont be coming over to take care of the cats till late she sends my niece over to check the mail well DDin law gets wind of this and calls DBF and somehow it came out the he had arranged to get her a brick and that was her surprise!!! She fell for it she called the other nite to ask if the information came for the brick!!!!

this is sooooo great!!!

just had to share this great news!!!! :sunny: :sunny:

9/18 - Great date - that's my wedding aniv! Hope it brings them as much luck as it has us (23 yrs this yr!!) :cool1:

Congrats to all!! :goodvibes

That's very exciting!! :cheer2: I would think it would be hard to keep from discussing wedding plans with her. :teeth:

I think getting engaged at WDW would be wonderful.

Ahhhhh, how sweet!!! Congrats to them.......... I love these kind of stories.
I agree, a wedding at the world would be so wonderful!!!!

LOL...I'm confused...is he going to be asking her to marry him in Milwaukee, then?..on September 18th?

In any event, what a romantic son-in-law you are getting! Please keep us posted!
'
PS...My romantic Disney heart thinks he might have worked harder at figuring out a proposal in WDW, but maybe he is more in tune with the "discom****ulation factor" and this will have a waaay bigger impact!

LOL...when I checked this post later I found out I should have spelled discom****ulated...discombubulated...gotta love those profanity filters! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hes popping the ? the nite of the 18th!! :goodvibes
either at Teppanki (thats where they ate the nite of the "anniversray" or he thought that you can eat in the castle I know they do a breakfast there but is thre also dinner?

A WDW wedding would really be speical :sunny:

I really dont know what king of wedding they want.

My DS got married "barefoot on the beach" in Maui and she mentioned she'd like to get married on our next family trip which is sort of planned next year top Bermuda.

but then again she changes her mind like the wind

we'll just have to wait and see>

I guess this really doesnt belong on this board I thought when I posted it I was on WDW advice I guess this is what happens when your "baby" gets married---gee I'll be a real basket case by the wedding!!!! :confused3

Lol

The time is drawing near! Sooo...did he decide on Tepanyaki or the castle?

Oh my goodness! He HAS to propose at the castle!!!!!! What could be more romantic!! It would be like a true fairy tale if he got down on one knee if front of the castle and proposed. I think I would just about die! Okay maybe not, but seriously the castle is THE place to do it not Teppanaki. Just my opinion though.... Best wishes to them both! Patty

Oh - Congrats!!! How wonderful!!

Please let us know more details.... its getting close, has she figured anything out yet?

about my DD getting engaged. I didnt realize I posted on this board as well as park stratigies(sp?)

any way the big day came. we had 2 almost slips but managed to cover them up. one slip was my DH and me were out of town and she got the birght idea to have my niece go over and pick up our mail well my D DIL heard this and called DBF and he called DD and made up the story that he had sent for info on the walk around the world brick to through her off the track so all this time she was thinking she was getting a brick she never realized they dont make them anymore :confused3

sat nite we had to get DD by our house so DBF could finish getting things ready. and yet he had to come over after she left!!! we had to make sure no one ran into each other!!!

that went off perfectly. he had it set up that their friend was going to Detroit due to family issues so the four of them set off for the airport- at thought for sure when they checked in the ticket agent was going to call security!! he asked where the luggage was going DBF said orlando and my DD pipes in no Detroit I was hopping the agent wasnt thinking they were trying to pull something :rotfl: :rotfl:

after she realized they were going to orlando and not Tyler to Detriot DBF had made a video explaining how he got a brick and it was near the Poly(thy there I have no idea!!! so by now its 630am and our phone rings its DD to annouce shes going to WDW!!! and how they now have a brick!!

he had made ressies for Teppanki since thats were they ate for their anniversary the month before. While they were waiting for their table they walked over to a little bridge on the side were theres those Koa fish and he got down on one knee an popped the big question!!!! :wizard:

DD was in tears and shaking so hard he could hardly get the ring on!!! :goodvibes

when she called later that nite she was in tears and all she could say was Im engaged mom (her voice shaking) :cloud9:

we had a good laugh how she fell for the brick story :rotfl2:

and how everything went so perfect :goodvibes and she had absoluty no idea

they bought the bride and groom ears and wore them everyday at the parks--it was so cute people congratulated them--offered to take pics of them and the CM at splash gave them there own log!!!

they had them on when we picked them up

Im not going to make it through the wedding I already had tears just picking them up!!

again thanks for the well wishes and Im sorry for leaving you in the dark--I have another post on the stragiers board the title is something like DD going to WDW and doenat know it :grouphug:

Thank you, Dznypal!

I shed a few happy tears for your DD and DBF too, so I can imagine how many you'll shed when they finally say "I do"!

...now for a shower present someone will just have to get them a brick engraved like the Disney bricks were...with their engagement date on it! ...don't you think? :rotfl:

Lol...I had a special garden stone engraved once by a man who worked at a monument place...they do all kinds of engraving on lots of surfaces.

:cloud9: That's so special, thank-you for sharing that story with us! Congratulations! It sounds like you're going to have a great son-in-law.
