This is really scary...

She is going to need allot of ........

:scared1:

Reason #2345 for me to never have kids.

Does it say how far along she was in that picture? All I can think of is that Jon and Kate special when she was pregnant. Kate was WAYYY bigger than that.

Kate was waaay bigger! Maybe Octomom is taller?

She needed a couple of 2x4's to hold that big ol' belly of hers. If anything, she's going to need a dumptruck load of Preperation H. Just the thought of her hemorrhoids makes me want to go screaming into the night!!!

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I was watching one of those Hollywood gossip shows where Nadya's publicist blamed the public's negative reaction to Nadya and the babies on the current state of the economy. She said that if the babies had been born 3 years ago, the public would have accepted and embraced them. Something else mentioned in this show is that Nadya wrote letters to Angelina Jolie at one point. :confused3 :confused3

:sad2: :sad2:

Uh, no. The publicist has drunk the kool-aid and been sucked into Octofreak's dillusion. The only way the public would accept this is if she wasn't nuts and was actually capable of taking proper care of her kids.

We would all be pissed, no matter how great the economy, that she did this on purpose and is living off of disability and tax-payer dollars.

Honestly, I wonder if she is lying with this "press release" photo:confused3

Wouldn't you be on complete bedrest 8 days before delivering octuplets? Why is her hair and makeup all done? She has lied so much in the past, but I think a woman would be WAY bigger (and bed bound) a few days before delivering 8 children.

WARNING!

Here is a pic of a twin belly (not mine:laughing: )and it is just a large:::

Again, she has lied so much, who knows the truth:confused3

Only twins in there? :scared1: Thank goodness I had one and she was small.

I agree. She has lied who knows what the truth really is.

So, she's been receiving disability payments for an injury at work, yet she can carry a pregnancy like that. I just don't get it.

and it was a back injury too. No way did she have a severe enough back injury to be on disablilty and then be able to tolerate having that much extra weight in front.

I didn't start my back issues until after I had kids. Some days I can't even stand up straight. I've had days where I've crawled because it hurt my back to try and walk. Luckily he last few years have finally seen an end to that pain.

Sounds like her "publicist" is as wacky as she is. Oh, and how is she paying this 'publicist?' Funds from her site? The entire thing is absolutely ridiculous--and the economy has NOTHING to do with that.

It's all pro bono. Isn't that kind of them? ;)

Has it occurred to any of you that she may not actually have a back problem...

Well, if she didn't have one before, I'll bet she does now.

That would be poetic justice, wouldn't it? To lie about having a bad back to get a settlement -- to use the settlement money on IVF -- and end up with a bad back because of it. Kind of goes full circle.

Has it occurred to any of you that she may not actually have a back problem...

But she got a huge settlement for it!!!

Oh my.... what if she did not have a back problem and faked it to get the $$$ to pay for the IVF.... nothing would surprise me at this point. :headache:

themilesfamily...I did not even see your post... Ahh... great minds think alike. ::yes::

Not only is that a good point -- but it makes me wonder even more about the fertility doctor who implanted the embryos. Wouldn't the question of severe back issues be somewhere in the screening process -- and wouldn't that rule her out for having SIX embryos implanted??? I mean, really, that doctor dropped the ball. Even if she wanted it, he didn't have to do it. For so many, many legitimate reasons.

While I think the whole thing is ridiculous and she should have never made it past the screening process and be a candidate for IVF, it is not uncommon for them to implant anywhere from 4-8 embryos HOPING that even ONE would implant. Looks like fertile Myrtle doesn't have an issue with her uterus and the fertilized eggs attaching, just the eggs actually reaching the uturus the "natural" way. It's also quite astonishing that 2 resulted in identical twins on top of the other 4 latching on. The babies may have totaled 19 pounds but don't forget all the fluid in addition to actual baby weight. Placenta, amniotic fluid, etc. she was carting around alot more weight than 20 pounds :scared1: I think it's a shame that so many people have failed her and her children - from her parents to the doctors who allowed her to get IVF :sad2:

I agree that its a shame that people have failed the children. But she brought this on herself. Shs is an adult and the blame lies with her. The others may have been enablers, but ultimately, this is on her.

I thought I heard somewhere that doctors won't implant more than 2-3 embryos in women under the age of 35. I don't claim to knowing anything about IVF, so someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty certain I heard that in an interview w/a fertility doctor. This woman fell in the under-35 category, which is why so many doctors were shocked at how many embryos were implanted. I guess six embryos is like 2x-3x the amount of embryos they will typically implant in someone in her age range.

I believe women under the age of 35 have a much higher success rate with IVF, which is why they implant fewer embryos. I read an article that says "fertility is a function of age and starts to decline around age 27." (Not to get anyone's biological clock ticking or anything!!!)

I'm beside myself mad at this woman. I've never let something affect me like this before. Here I sit with 2 kids in their teens trying to figure out how to buy them clothes, pay for dentists and Doctor visits, how to get them into college, how to give them what they need and want and here comes this chick who *I* have already helped pay for her last 6 kids, her latest pregnancy, her VERY complicated birth, and I will continue paying to help all 14 of her children grow up, get a college education, and if they follow their Mother's teachings I'll continue to pay for them as adults.

Let's face it. She found a way to get a nose job, lips done, fancy hairdo. She's gonna get a tummy tuck and guess who is gonna pay for that?

Ya US.

I wonder how many more kids of hers we are gonna have to pay for.....

It really pisses me off!

We barely get by but we do by living within our means. I always wanted a 3rd child but knew better. I realy really really wanted a 3rd child y'all.

We were able to afford a trip to DW last year after saving for 2 years so I know I was right.

Lazy ppl piss me off.

::yes::
Even if she only had 6, that is way above the standard of care.
The The American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the association of fertility doctors, even adopted guidelines in 2008 encouraging the transfer of only one embryo for women under 35, and no more than two, except in extraordinary circumstances. The guidelines allow more for older women, up to a maximum of five.
So, 6 (or 8) was WAY above the standard of care that was set by fertility doctors themselves as a guideline.
