So, when I left off we had just finished an interesting breakfast at CRT. Our plan was to hit up Fantasy Land and knock out a bunch of rides in that area.
We left CRT and got our stroller. We walked past the carousel and I considered stopping to ride it, but I noticed Cinderella's step-mother and step-sisters were riding. It looked like lots of to ride with them. But, DD just had a terrible experience dining with the princesses and since she was dressed like Cinderella I was concerned she may draw some unwanted attention from those characters. I thought that may not be the best idea. But as we walked by I wished DD was in a different mood and outfit!
As you may have noticed by now, I have a hard time taking pictures because I get so caught up in the experience and forget about pics. Well, it happened again. Sorry about the lack of pictures, but I did take detailed notes!
Since, we skipped the carousel I had a destination in mind, the Little Mermaid Ride! We headed straight back to the new Fantasy land. We did not check that out our first day in the MK and I was so excited!

Let me just say this new area did not disappoint! It was amazing! I love how you really feel like you are in the movie at each area. The detail that went into every aspect is perfect! We found ourselves at the little mermaid and there was no line! We walked straight on. As happy as I was not to wait in a long line, I wished we could have experienced the details a little more. The ride was awesome! Charlotte who had loved meeting Ariel a few moments ago really enjoyed this one. I am sure this ride will become a classic!
After LM we went to Dumbo. I was so excited to DD to try out this classic for some reason. I just knew she would love it. Again this one was a walk on, no line at all. I love the idea of the play area for when there is a line. That is genius but we did not need it.
After we got off the ride, Charlotte wanted to go again, so we did. Then after the second time we made her move on. Right next to Dumbo was the Barnstormer. I had not planned on riding it, but Charlotte watched it and insisted on riding! So we walked up and got right on the ride. Charlotte and I were placed in the front row. All of the other rides we had been on Charlotte sat in my lap, but this time she had to sit in the seat, at first she protested but as soon as the ride started she was fine. She was saying "weee" the whole time and loved it! We had to do this one again as well! My DH hates roller coasters but I love them! If her love of the barnstormer is any indication of the future, I may not have to ride roller coasters alone much longer!
At this point I could not believe how much we had done, three rides and two of them twice and we had not waited in a single line! I understand why some people swear by rope drop! Seriously, we had never done it before.
We considered doing the Pete's meet and greet, but we had already met most of the characters, and we wanted to keep getting major rides out of the way before the lines got long, so we moved on.
We did the Tea Cups next. I have always loved the Tea Cups. They just say WDW to me! We had a five minute wait and then we were on the ride:
After the Tea Cups, we went up towards IASW. I also love that ride as well. I know some find it boring or the song annoying but a trip to WDW or DL just would not be complete with out that boat ride. We had a short wait to get on the ride but not bad at all. Charlotte loved this one, although she was getting sleepy at this point.
After IASW we went to see about Peter Pan. Its line was about 50 min. That was way to long to wait. The FP return time was between 1 and 2 which would not work with our nap time so we moved on. I really wanted to take Charlotte on this ride. The last time we were in Disney was 2010 and that was the first time I ever rode that one and I was so impressed! I could not believe we always skipped that one! But, we never did get a chance to ride it this trip. Oh well! A reason to go back.
So, we found ourselves in the Tangled bathroom area. I used the restroom and just stood there taking in all the details. I must have been in there a long time because when I came out my DH asked me if I had a stomach ache, I told him no I was just looking around!
After my extended bathroom break we discussed what we should do. DD was clearly very sleepy and we had already got a lot of my "must-dos" accomplished and it was only 11am! We always save souvenir shopping until the last day of our trip and usually go to DTD. However, this trip DTD just did not seem possible. DH had be given a 20% off all merchandise at several stores including the Emporium on Main Street. We decided to head there and get our souvenirs and then head back to the poly for a nap. I did most of the shopping although DD made one very important purchase for herself:
This guy came home with us!
I also got these for some friends having new baby's:
I picked this shirt out for myself:
I got some new potholders which I really needed:
We got this guy for our nephew whose nursery is monster themed:
Charlotte picked these out for her friend who was having surgery as soon as we returned:
A shirt for Charlotte:
A new phone case for me:
I also got a Rapunzel doll for DD to save for her next birthday, some caramels for my dad, and a few shirts for my mom but I didn't take pictures of them. It took me about two hours to get all my shopping done, I had lots of decisions to make! While I was shopping DH took DD out to watch the parade which she LOVED! This really helped so she didn't get so antsy or want everything in the store! After my shopping spree we caught the monorail and went back to our room. Even with the rocky start our day was going great so far! And, it was about to get better...
Sorry for the text heavy update. I thought I was doing a better job of getting pictures, but this day I just didn't take that many.
