As my luck would have it...I got in. I won inferno, Yay! Then I crashed. There is no inferno in my pins. :(

OMGoodness, I was just sitting here wondering what was worse, being next in line to get INTO the room - and crashing or getting in the room and being first in line to play the game - and crashing, but, YOU definitely won the worse moment award!

If we look at history the events are always more crowded. The maze event was a disaster and they had three rooms going what person decided that they would be able to do it better with ONE ROOM.

I was sure every staff member would have one.

One room? I don't care how fast they thought it would run there are more than a million players registered. A room holds 15 people.
 

I am so upset right now I am ready to make both my son and I quit this game.

He also tried all day to get judged and to the prize machine. Gave up on the prize machine and stuck to the judging.

Finally after waiting and waiting, VMK_Congo came in. He then said to almost every person inthe room "good costume, insert name, you will get your prize later", he did this to all but two people, then as people left and more came in, he said " you are late, but you will still get a prize", this continued for some time. Then he said he was leaving. In the end every person but my son and one other got a prize. I am so upset right now, two people were excluded. That is not right. If they are going to hand out prizes, it should be all of the room, or only one.

I don't think I have ever been this upset at VMK before. Before it was poor planning and server issue, but this is different.
 
what gets me, is THIS IS A DISNNEY PARK!!!!!!!! virtual, yes, but the ethics should be exactly the same. if this happened at WDW could you imagine?
 
they only solace i have about this whole day is that i put my other window to good use while i was waiting. So, tomorrow the first 12 grey suits wont cost me a dime now lol. So , i guess i should say thanks vmk lol. :rotfl2: :rolleyes:

I am so mad right now, I could spit!! WHEN is VMK going to get their act together with these events? I would write a letter, but it's SO obvious that it doesn't do any good. I mean, how many angry/suggestions for improvement emails flooded their box for all the other events and they still haven't learned. And even KIDS have better solutions to problems than staff. Seriously, either do an event right for a change or don't do them at all. Plus VMK staff needs a lesson in Disney ethics. :sad2:

Exactly. I remember back in the 80's i went on space mountain and forgot i had my baseball hat on. It was an old eagles hat lol. no biggie. But it flew off, so i mentioned it as i was leaving the ride, and the cm told me wait. Whipped out a book, and gave me a voucher for the empoirum good for $20, and he said "now you can get a new hat sir, sorry you lost yours".

i was shocked. So i went and bought a new mickey hat lol.

Again, their attention to making people happy and keeping them happy is, or was at least, unmatched. I didnt ask for a new hat, i actually just wanted to see if i could come back the next day and get it (figured they did inspections each day and cleaned up whatever fell, but since then i have learned about all the nets).

So vmk, easy fix. Hit your mass award button (if this program does now have a way to give an across the board prize i would be shocked, and they would be quite stupid for not thinking of it lol). Anyway. Mass award inferno. Seriously. It would not be tradeable all that much, since we all would have it. But hmm, would go a long way towards at least making an effort to correct peoples feelings today. It's like a broken glass, cant fix it, but making us walk over it (by sending generic "i'm sorry you did not enjoy our event" messages) is just wrong lol.

It's almost embarrassing that Disney's name is tied to this sort of thing. or at least the people who are running it. :rolleyes:
 
Yeah MousseDude- at one time I had my husband's computer open with me waiting in line and crashing while I played a new game I created- and boy did I win big... in the time it took for me to wait in line only to crash at various places in the line- on dh's computer- I was able to "win"

3 complete princess costumes (one in each color)
1 Haunted Mansion suit
1 cowboy hat
1 Indian Headdress
1 pink princess hat
6 web dividers
and 5 shirts with lanyards
and enough credits to get the gray haunted mansion suit tomorrow too

wow wasn't I lucky-

Sounds like Moussedude played the same game too- and I wasn't frustrated in the slightest- lol

I sent in a letter and I am seriously considering resigning from the CL status also. I don't want to be viewed by some as a supporter right now. I plan to buy tomorrow's costume, and then take a break for a while. I have been planning on a trip to Disneyland for Christmas so Kris could do the quests, but at this point I think we may be doing Sea World instead.
 
grrrr. Now I need to rant. I've been teased with visions of Inferno in my head! I've been trying to load the vmk prize room all day too. One room? ONE ROOM? Are they crazy? I'm too stubborn to just ignore the fact people are aquiring Inferno today. Hopefully, The VMK staff will be better prepared for future contests.
 
Ok I am trying once, I am in line behind 600 some ppl. I never got my prizes I earned from the maze, even with two emails sent, and I hear others did. Question? Why don't they make it a room with no furniture except the generator and queue? (I have not been in there but supposedly thre is furniture in there...) they should also say "no talking once you are in room". That would help. I know if it's anything like the maze fiasco, ppl will start whining about the long wait and crashing once they get in, and THAT will cause people to crash. Some ppl just do not THINK! I am including VMK in this!

Oh great, now I am stuck with 599 ppl in front and it has not moved since I started typing. Does that mean I crashed and do not know it? HELP! I HATE THESE EVENTS WHY DO I DO THEM!!!!??????? [/RANT]

I haven't managed to get into the staff room at all, keep crashing.
I've waited and waited in the Castle ForeCourt for 3 hours and never once saw any staff.

tell vmk this, the only thing that can affect their cold greedy hearts is money loss.

Oh I mentioned it. And it is the truth. When I asked Kris what he wanted for Christmas, he said the one thing he wants most of all is to go on a quest. I have been working and saving to be able to take him. However, I am no longer sure I want to spend actual money on a game I am not even sure I want us to continue playing. This is not an "I'm leaving post", I am too addicted to do that, but if events continue to be like that, I may encourage him to spend his time back on Neopets or something. As far as our trip to Disneyland goes, we live in California, there is many other fun alternatives, and Sea World would be free for us since DH is military.

I feel so bad for your son. I read your post and almost cried. That's terrible.

Yes and during the maze event they said not to enter the maze exit. However, the people that did enter the maze exit and complain to the staff received their prizes. My DH played for a long time and followed all the rules. He trusted VMK_Babs and the CLs when they said that they were writing down the names of all that tried to get in and that she had noted his name. Has he gotten his prizes? I am sure you all know the answer to that one! A big fat NO.

That is why I did not even try the event today. Oh, I really want Inferno too but I know that I would end up empty handed and beyond frustrated. What a shame that they never learn.

They should give up on events until they can handle player volume properly.

I sent a message about what happened. Wonder if I'll ever hear back. Another occasion, I wrote to vmk about the last event. I got a response sent to my email with in 30 minutes and everything was fixed. This time, not even one to say they had received it and were looking at it? hmm
