This is HORRIBLE!!

I can't understand how a grown person could beat a child, especially a little 4/5 year old. But what really baffles me is that a crowd of people were watching and not one person could step in or call the police. I'm sure a couple of people could have gotten the mother off the poor child. Disgusting. :sad2: :sad2: :furious:

:sad2: Thank goodness you went to get an officer. It makes me sick to think of what that poor little girl must go through at home.

Some people are unfit to be a parent. She clearly falls into that category. Shame on the people who were watching, but thanks to the OP for having the common sense and decency to alert the authorities!

Hollister: thank you for stepping up and doing something. You may have saved that little girls life.

There are very rare instances where I would hit a woman. This would be one of them. :furious:

I wish I never opened this thread :guilty: reading this really makes me angry.

Good for you getting the security guy inside, however why didn't you drop that lady right there on the scene? If that was me I would have done whatever it took to stop that lady at the very moment I saw what she was doing.

And for everyone else that stood and watched, I hope bad karma comes to you!

No one stepped in to rescue this child? I'm appalled at this.

This "incident" would be worth going to jail for. I would have yelled at the crowd of people for not helping this child. I would not cared what others thought, I would have marched myself up to that woman, yanked her off that innocent child and starting beating the crap out of the woman and would not stop until police arrived. Alittle taste of her own medicine is what she needed IMO.

Nothing a child does deserves a beating....period

I think the OP is a child or teen her/himself (sorry, not sure which). He did the right thing. :thumbsup2

Hollister, good going for getting involved!

I just can't get over the fact that everyone just stood and watched the little girl getting beaten. :sad2:

You and your mom did the right thing by going to get the policeman! Good for you! :thumbsup2

If the mother would do this in public with an audience, imagine what the poor child has probably gone through at home!
Exactly. That was the first thought I had after reading this. Rest assured like another posters said, I would of grabbed that sicko and started wailing on her and let her see how it felt to be kicked and beaten up. Yeh, I would of been arrested too, but at least she'd get a taste of her own medicine. Makes me so mad!! :furious:

My prayers are with that poor little angel. I hope her life changes for the better.

That is awful! I can believe that people are too afraid to jump in and save someone. One night I was at the grocery store and I heard a loud fight coming up to the front of the store where we were in line. 3 employees were trying to take a back pack away from a woman and she was screaming for them to leave her alone. I was trapped in line with my cart that had my twins in their infant seats (they were tiny). The employees were fighting the woman trying to get the back pack. Apparently, she had been shoplifting. I told the cashier to call the police. All the cashiers were frozen. I got my cell phone and called them (I have their # on speed dial). The operator could hear them beating the woman trying to get her backpack away from her. The police came in about a minute. The men continued beating her until the cops came. Several cars sped up with their lights and sirens on. ::cop: ::cop: ::cop: My fear was the woman had more people with her and those people were going to appear and do who knows what. But, yeah, I witnessed about 20 people stand frozen and motionless while 3 guys beat up a woman all because she had shoplifted a bag of Fritos.

I agree. Someone had to get the police out there and kudos for being the one to do so!

Even if I would have tried to stand back and watch this rather than do something (and I WOULD HAVE stopped her) DW would have made me go stop her.

I am disturbed that a woman would beat her child...but equally disturbed that no one around felt the need to pull her off of the poor child. What the heck is wrong with people?

That's exactly how I feel. I can't believe it. SO sad.

Oh boy am I with everyone else!!!! A crowd of people WATCHING?? :furious:

Somethings you don't get involved in...but this you do.

What has that poor child suffered without any eyes looking on?

This happened when we went camping last year, except my dh didn't watch he went over and pulled the lady off of her kid. This mother had been screaming at her child, verbally threating her all weekend. So finally I went up to get the ranger to have them come down and speak to her. While I was gone, my dh, who had been watching her closely, saw the women hit her child. So he immediately went to stop her from hitting the child. Only then after my dh did that did other campers come out and they yelled at my dh for touching the women!

My dh said he will never forget the look on the little girls face.

I'm glad you got someone to stop her. I can't imagine watching and not doing anything to help that poor child.
