This is Hilarious! Kind of OT?

I just saw the funniest commercial on TV! :happytv:

It starts out with a little girl standing in front of The Hulk rollercoaster at Universal Studios in Orlando. She has her arms crossed and an attitude. She says

"If I have to hug one more princess on this vacation I am going to hurl!"

The commercial then goes on to show her on the rides at Universal.

Well my whole family just looked at me and said yes mom there is another park around here! I told them I would gladly drop them off there on my way to WDW! Family: you can't kill them so you have to love them! :rotfl2:

I think they have lost all their senses! lol, do they really think they can sway Disney fans or even just any kid by having a clearly "magic"-deprived young girl as the spokesperson? And better yet...in front of the Hulk ride! If they wanted to be like that; like how they are, they should have just put a teen boy in there! :rotfl2:

Obviously Disney doesn't need to publically attack Universal like that...Universal is just desperate and that is funny! :rotfl:

The best commercial I've seen is kind of an old one. This lady gets a new lamp, so she takes her old one and sets outside by the trash can. She then plugs the new lamp in and goes about here day. It then pans to the lamp outside, and sad music starts playing. It starts to rain, and the lamp faces towards a window where you see the woman sitting at her desk, with the new lamp turned on and facing towards the desk. A man then comes on screen holding an umbrella. The man then says, "Right now you are probably feeling sorry for the lamp. This is because you are crazy. The lamp has no feelings, and the new lamp is better anyway."

Have any of you seen the one for some kind of baked chip? It features George Hamilton (he knows baked, lol). The background music is the same as the music in Small World Imports! Really surprised me the first time I heard it.

Yes!! I was half asleep one night and the commercial came on and I thought to myself...exactly how tired am I to be hearing this music in a commercial that has nothing to do with Disney? lol. I was surprised as well!

that same music from small world imports was originally used on the Disney channel to promote the 80's movie "Teen Witch". I had posted about this last year and everyone ignored me!!

I think that commercial is hilarious! Disney gets plenty of business and Universal knows it. They are are offering great deals and are just trying to tell parents that they have other options. You really can't spend a whole week at Universal so they are mostly looking for Disney guests wanting to add on to their trips. Business is business! True though, the spokeperson should have been a teen boy, that little girl is not even tall enough to ride Hulk! ROFL! Then again, do teen boys EVER get tired of hugging princesses??

I think it is funny too. I know I went through I "adult" stage in my preteens. I kept telling people I was too old for cute girly stuff. That little girl could have very well been me at 13. LOL

My favorite Comercial is the Six Flags Commercial with the old guy dancing in front of the six flags bus. That makes me laugh every time!

I don't think this thread needs to be deleted at all. No imflammatory issues are being dicussed here regarding other people. We all have aright to our opinions and to discuss them here as long as they are not about other posters. I see no reason whatsoever why this thread needs to be closed just because YOU don't like that commercial.

I honestly think this thread is not insulting Walt Disney World, but rather quietly stating how pathetic Universal is by down-grading WDW in an indirect manner. :rolleyes:

You have got to be kidding me! lol Have you ever visited anywhere outside of the dis vmk forums? In the main page there is a section for Universal, Sea World and other theme parks.

That commercial is just plain funny, it's ok to like other places besides Disney. This does not take away my love for Disney any day. Kiddos, learn to enjoy life and not complain about such petty things. A poster is telling their story, it would be nice if she could just tell without all this silly arguing in between. :rolleyes:

I have seen that commercial and I for one enjoy it! And yes, I do love Disney very much so; that does not make me any less of a fan! :woohoo:

This can be said for any thread made if you look at it. Therefore technically all threads should be closed based on what you have said (which wouldn't make for a good board):
Examples:
1) People talking about trade rooms and how people shouldn't go in them unless they are going to trade is insulting for those that go in to look for certain items and not trade until they come across them.
2) People talking about winning inferno or obtaining "rare" furniture could be insulting for those that have tried and tried and can't get any.
3) People posting info an new items can be insulting to those that don't have enough credits to purchase those items.
4) And the list can go on and on an on....

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about things, which is why the dis is a good place to come. But to say that the mods should close a thread based on the opinions of a few when no rules are being broken is just that... your own opinion.
