This is crazy! 3rd accident on my street due to water!?!?

I live on a busy high way. The guy across the street has water running down his driveway which of course is freezing. Last Tue a horrible accident (4 cars) happened. Just as I was walking DD to the bus. Then another one one on Thr. Looked like only 2 cars
Then this morning I wake up to the sounds of skidding and crash. I didn't go out just called 911...but it had to be bad since they are still working on it.
I have called the police they say they can't do anything, I called the township they say it is Pendots fault since it is a state road. I called Pendot and they say it is the townships fault because the guy is pumping water. I called my state rep Never heard a thing....Needless to say I left another message today. Also called our local newstation...but they said the mail box was full....will try again later...
I guess I am just venting that this is the 3rd accident and it didn't need to happen..... If that was my house I would do something put a french drain in.......

That is crazy, Spinning. Well, even if we can't do something here, we WILL listen. Sure sounds ridiulous to me. Hope everyone stays safe till it is corrected.

Is the guy *home* and does he know he's leaking water? If he's out of town and a pipe burst or something, he may not know.

Have you tried going over and talking to him?

Where is the water coming from? Is he emptying a pool or is it rainwater runoff?

Not sure where the water is coming from. I know that there are springs behind the house and one neighbor said he was pumping out his basement. As far knowing he is home I have know idea. Lights are on. It is terrible not to know your neighbors but when everyone lives on an acre and then put a busy 4 lane high way with a turning lane.....you just dont get to know them..I have no idea what type of person this guy is. I met him once briefly several years ago when they moved in I stopped in to say hi.
I got a call back from our state rep who said they can do nothing.... I am calling my township building again.

Three accidents and no one can do anything? I would keep trying the TV stations and newspapers. They love these kinds of stories, and news coverage is more likely to prompt somebody to decide that they can do something.

I just called and left a messagae with one of the local news stations. Called our township building and got the guy who is incharge of road safety and maint. He said they have been in the house and the home owner is doing nothing wrong. It is do to a spring and the water levels in the ground. Pendot is now responsible for salting. SO needless to say nothing will be done. Of course all this warm weather and the rain that is coming in on Wed will make a night mare by Thr or Friday if it gets cold!
