This is Blue...she is missing

Can you get an ad in the local paper as well? Maybe you can offer a reward. I knew two kids (back when I was a kid too), who used to go around and find lost pets and then ask if there wasn't a reward. I guess they were kind of like good samaritan shake down artists! Keep calling all of the local shelters and the humane society, just in case someone brings her in. I'm sure she'll be home soon. Has she run away many times before? Sometimes dogs get frightened by lightning or something and run off. Dogs have an amazing ability to find their way home, so I'm sure it'll be OK. :grouphug: :grouphug:

I hope she is home soon! She looks like such a sweetie.

So sorry to hear that. :( Call ALL the surrounding police departments also. They do round up strays and lost pets too. Sure do hope he returns soon.

My heart goes out to you. Our lab took off for the first time this last year at the age of 10. Some boards came loose in her run and she managed to work her way out. I was home when it happened. I ran all over the neighborhood calling her name, eventually found her WAY down the street. I second what another poster said, talk to the neighborhood kids, that's SO true. We use to find stray dogs when I was a kid. They're always outside playing, adults tend to me more indoors.
I'll be thinking about Blue and I sure hope you find her.

I hope your Blue comes home safe and sound. It feels as if a part of your family is missing. Don't give up searching. Keep us posted!

:grouphug: Don't give up hope. A few years ago my DFIL opened his car door downtown, and his new chihauhau puppy jumped out of the car. He is legally blind and couldn't find her. (DMIL was not in the immediate area when it happened.) We searched the entire area several times and put up lots of fliers. One of their friends son's actually found it on the street the day it disappeared. He or his mom saw one of the fliers, and the puppy was reunited with them several days later. It was one of the happiest days of their lives.

I hope Blue comes back home soon! I could not imagine one of our dogs being missing.

This is Blue ...She has been missing since yesterday. We've been searching the neighborhood and I checked our local Animal Shelter today too. The people there were so nice. What a wonderful staff at the Butler County Animal Shelter (a 'no kill' shelter). I hope someone finds Blue for us. We miss her sooooo much.

When I was a kid, one of our dogs disappeared. We lived out on the edge of town & sometimes those things happened in the countryside, that a pet would disappear...

Anyway, a YEAR later my mom gets a phone call from a woman who lived in a town at least 20 miles away, on the other side of a major river *AND* even in another state. She says that she has our dog. My mom says oh that can't be possible, we haven't lost a dog for pver a year. The lady says well he still has his tags on I called the county courthouse & they said he's your dog.

I was sick with the mumps or measles...one of those diseases we used to get, so I couldn't go with them, but my mom and brother got in our old station wagon and drove to this woman's house.

They drove up, the dog was staying in a car in the yard. He saw my mother & brother and jumped up on top of our car. Then he jumped inside the car.

It WAS OUR dog, "Tawn"! Missing for a YEAR. He'd only been at the house for a little while, a couple of weeks I think.

My mom figured out later that a neighbor who didn't like the dog(the feeling was mutual on Tawn's part!) and had a running feud with him had probably taken the dog across the river, across the state line, *way* into this other state. Tawn made it back as close to home as he could but he never did like swimming too much. He got as far as the river and could go no further.

Tawn never did roam much after that. We had originally gotten him from the local dog pound & just fell in love with him - he jumped at least 6 *FEET* straight up (with joy, I think) when he were looking at the dogs through the fence. He was a great dog and quite a character - fathered a litter of puppies the summer before he died, almost ten years after he came home.

Sometimes I still miss him. This time he's been gone for at least 20 years.

agnes!

poor blue... I hope she comes home soon! :grouphug: Keep us posted!!
