Youngest DS went forward at the end of today's church service and accepted the Lord!!! We had been talking about it and he said he wanted to do it today. I had not said anything to my DM, in case he got cold feet at the last minute. So there we were mom and son, and grandma at the altar. Truly one of those moments you will never forget!

isn't it nice when they choose to follow what you've taught them? I'm glad your son made you proud today.

Great and you deserve to brag, I would be doing the same thing. :D

That's great news TC! Definitely a moment to remember forever :)

How wonderful, TC! I remember accepting the Lord when I was younger and my parents being so proud (I was pretty thrilled too!). I'm glad to know I have a new brother in Christ today!

Amen! I got tears in my eyes reading your post. You must be so excited. :)

I don't think I could ever forget my son doing that at the age of 6. No plan, he just broke off and ran down the aisle all by himself. Afterwards, someone told him that he was now "saved" and he told them proudly, "I've ALWAYS been saved!" :teeth:

Truer words were NEVER spoken!

If you were one tenth as proud I know you and your Mom can just burst now. When your children follow the word of God there is so much less that we can concern ourselves about them when we are not around.

God bless!

At the risk of sounding ignorant, what exactly does this mean. Im getting that someone stands up in church and does something? What? What religion? Ive been raised Catholic and never heard of anything like this.
It sure sounds like Congratulations are in order though! :)

I'll risk sounding ignorant too.....I would also like to know the particulars. My religious upbringing was haphazard and I'm afraid I missed a lot.

The more I think of it, I want to say someone else posted something similar here a while back. I cant remember the specifics of it though.

Well, this is it in a nut shell: we have all sinned. God sent his son, Jesus, to die for our sins. I'm sure you have heard of John 3:16: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever, (meaning you and me), believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life". And in Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord". When you hear the term "Saved"or "Accepted the Lord", it means someone has prayed the sinner's prayer by acknowledging their sinful state, expressing their belief that God sent Jesus to die on the cross to save the world, and by asking God into their heart.
Hope that explains it to you.
