so matt and i just moved into our apartment, blah blah blah. you know the drill.

well the past few mornings, when we've woken up, its like the air is REALLY dry. i can't really come up with words to explain it, but normally when i wake up, i don't need somethign to drink, but now i can barely talk.

do any of you have that same problem? any ideas on how to fix it?

i know that de-humidfiers exist, but i think we need a humidifier. where can i buy that, and how much does it cost?

Hospitals are the worst for dry air. My voice would be so coarse and I'd get nosebleeds. As far as humidifiers, we have a couple. I usually see them in pharmacies, and even Walmart. I've usually seen them anywhere from $20 to $100+, but it all depends on the quality or the price range.

Do you know the cause of it? That is so weird, I've never heard of it. Is mold even capable of drying the air?

the apartment we have has central heat and air, and i didn't have that in my parents house. i think that may be the culpret. i did some searches and i found that my local target has a pretty cheap one for bedrooms (so its quiet) and its shaped like a penguin (lol) looks like i'm going to target tomorrow.

i know at my target they have humidifiers
like for when your sick apparently? haha.

target would probably be your best bet for the price.

Oh, and I hope you guys feel better soon! That must really suck.

IDK your price range, or even if a humidifier is what you need, but this looks really cool. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=7964352 It has good reviews. But, I would probably go with a cheaper one first to see if a humidifier will indeed help.

when i moved out this lady my mom works with gave me 100 $ in target cards. looks like i finally found something to spend them on. lol

It definitely could be. We don't have Central Air, but I stayed in a vacation home up in Cape Cod with it. The house was definitely drier than mine, but never so bad as you describe it.

Sorry for being off topic but did you like the Cape? I always wonder if out of state-ers(?) enjoy the cape haha.

<3 it. It was actually for a DIS meet, back in 2003 and 2004. I got to meet WMAlex, which is how I got signed up in the first place. I loved it, and I thought it was so fun. The only thing I didn't like was all the Red Sox caps on. ;) But it's definitely worth the 6 hour drive up.

Oh that sounds so fun! I find it totally fascinating though. I hear you about the Red Sox hats. Basically everyone and their mother wears a Red Sox hat around that area hahha.

lol dang it. I wish I got here sooner. I was no joke, just about to tell you about this really cute penguin humidifier my sister's friend had in their apartment.

I saw all of the humidifiers at Target today.
I personally like the elephant the most :P

so i bought the penguin one. its so cute. the mist comes out of its nose! i have it sitting at the foot of my bed right now (pictures on my other thread)
