This Is A Poncho-Free Zone!--May 22-29, 2010 PTR (New PTR!!!! 5/31)

Love the blue hoodie, Becky! Zip ups are great for throwing in your bag at Disney-- my Juicy one was a lifesaver in the cold restaurants last August!
I looked at your pictures-- love the VB laptop portfolio! Your girls looked thrilled with their great stuff, too! Glad you all had a wonderful Christmas

Nope, not a D23 member. I am curious about it though. What do you think?
The clothes are cute and I am interested in knowing about the magazines--if there is interesting facts, trivia or whatnot in them?

I like it so far!! The magazine is packed full of cool articles--behind the scenes of The Christmas Carol, The Princess and the Frog, Prep and Landing, the Disney Dream, Christmas in WDW, and I could go on and on--that's only the Winter issue!!

I have been eyeing that same blue hoodie and the back issues.

You have good taste, Jackie!! :thumbsup2

LOVE your purchases! I could not decide which one to get. I def. like the blue hoodie. I was thinking of the D23 long sleeved brown shirt and I def. want some back issues. SO exciting

Thanks Katie!! I know!! I can't WAIT to get everything!! :goodvibes

Great purchases. I am thinking of joining!

Thanks Mary!! If you join before Friday you can be a charter member!! ;)

I just became a D23 charter member yesterday (I couldn't resist the $10 discount and free shipping!) :) Can't wait to receive everything in the mail :cloud9: Just like all of us on here, I love all things Disney, so how could I not be a member of such a wonderful club?!?! :goodvibes Glad to hear you had such a wonderful Christmas, Becky. I love all of your pictures, and as always, you have a beautiful family and Ally and Claire are adorable in their new princess dresses. From my understanding, Princess Tiana's Showboat Jubilee runs until January 3, 2010 (I just double-checked WDW's site as well). We've seen bits and pieces of it but I'm hoping to go on Saturday to see the whole thing and take some pictures. I haven't seen the movie yet but we're going to finally see it on Friday, can't wait!!!! :goodvibes

YAY!!! Congrats!! I know--I'm eagerly anticipating the arrival of my packet as well!!

Glad you liked my pictures!! Yes, my girls would live in their princess dresses if I let them!! I'm really hoping they extend the Tiana show--I REALLY want to see it! Oh girl--you are going to LOVE the movie!!!! :lovestruc

Becky---just read the comment above. I am so hopeful that it is running full time after January 3rd! Just to let you both know about it (cant believe I forgot to tell you :) )---I checkout out the entertainment schedule for the days we are in MK, and ALL of them had the showboat about 6 times a day!!! That is on January 10 and 12. SO lets cross our fingers that it is right! :yay:

That sounds promising, Katie!! I just joined a group on FB--keeping the Naveen and Tiana show in WDW (or something like that)!!

The "sale" price is so tempting! I think it would be worth it for the magazine alone. What did you think of it? It looks amazing!

I know!! It IS a good price!! I LOVE the magazine!! It is packed full of good articles (check out my response to someone else above about that)!! :goodvibes

Hey Becky, so glad you had a good Christmas. We had a great one too - I am just about to upload my pictures onto Facebook.

I am also going to start my PTR for next August tonight - how exciting!!!

Hi!! Glad you had such a great Christmas!! And I'll be sure to checkout your PTR!! Thanks for letting me know you've started one!! :goodvibes

Ooh, I've got to get that soundtrack, I didn't even think of that!

I'm not, I don't know much about it. So, now you've got me curious - what's it all about? I love that black shirt, btw!

Rebecca--here are some links that will give you lots of info about D23: http://d23.disney.go.com/index.html?int_cmp=d23_D23_DSIhmpg_0310__Intl and you can purchase it here: http://www.disneystore.com/d23/c/14479/!!

great buys Becky...I'm getting more intrigued now by this club....;)

Thanks Julie!! Hee hee!! Check out the links I posted above!! ;)

I'm trying to decide if I should buy the membership too!:goodvibes We are planning on going again in August....so anything to get into the disney spirit! What are the details of the membership exactly?

What are your plans for NYE Becky? Are you staying in alabama or heading home? We are supposed to get some snow/sleet mixture, so we are staying in and doing appetizers, games and movies with the kiddies! Kate got the Molly movie for Christmas, so maybe that one, followed by G-force!:goodvibes

Check out the links I posted above about D23!! :goodvibes

I'm not sure we're doing yet for NYE. We are still here in Alabama so we'll probably just stay home, spend time with family, and watch the different countdown shows (which is kind of annoying b/c they countdown an hour early on most shows since we are in Central Time). Oooh--the Mollie movie is sooo good!! It makes me cry everytime I watch it!! But I cry during every AG movie!! And G-force is a good choice, too!! :goodvibes

Thanks!! That's exactly what I was thinking! I wished I had packed one for our May trip--with all of the rain we got, I was FREEZING by nightfall!

Thanks! My mother-in-law picked out those VB laptop cases!! She did REALLY well shopping for us all!! :goodvibes

Hey, Becky I hope you are having a good day!! I was looking as some of the grand gathering options and thought maybe, since so many of us will be there, that we could all get together and have a breakfast or go on the magical fireworks voyage.

This is the information I pulled from MFL.

The Magical Fireworks Voyage
This event has you snacking at the Contemporary with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, sailing the Seven Seas Lagoon with "Patch," a charming (and handsome!) pirate, and watching Wishes from your "pirate" boat. The evening starts at the Contemporary Resort (check the Daily Event Board for location) with drinks and a snack & dessert spread- nothing fancy, just bagged snacks, cookies, brownies, that kind of thing, but certainly enough to keep hunger at bay during the rest of the adventure. Do not count on this as dinner, though. Captain Hook and Mr. Smee mingle with the guests, giving autographs and posing for photos. You'll then be assigned to your boat (which fit 60), and your pirate crew will take you along to the Contemporary marina, for your voyage in the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake. Entertainment is plentiful on the cruise. Think trivia quiz and sing-a-longs. The trip peaks with viewings of Wishes over Cinderella's Castle and the Electric Water Pageant, before you return to dock for yet another character meet and greet, this time with Peter Pan. There may or may not be a commemorative pin for this event; Grand Gathering staff say "yes," past event-goers say "Not so much."

Price: Adults (10 and up) $39.99; children (ages 3-9) $18.99.
Schedule: The Magical Fireworks Voyage is held almost every Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday night. Times change according to the fireworks schedule at the Magic Kingdom, so call (407) WDW-MAGIC to check for your dates.

Good Morning Gathering
Once again, break out the theme park admission for a family style meal, this time a character breakfast inside the Magic Kingdom. This is the King of Disney World's character breakfasts, held at Tony's Town Square Restaurant. Tony himself hosts the event, and plenty of classic characters (think Goofy, Chip, Dale and the like) come to meet and greet, as well as lead the room in song and dance. A new addition to this event is a post-meal VIP look at Mickey's PhilharMagic - no waiting. Pins? You bet!

Price: Adults (10 and up) $29.99; children (ages 3-9) $17.99
Schedule: This breakfast is held every Saturday and Wednesday morning, at 9 a.m. In December, Disney has added Thursdays as well, for the last three weeks of the month. Please call (407) WDW-MAGIC to verify dates and times.

I mentioned it to Leanne and Mary and they like it. Leanne has a GG number already because she and Mary are booked under one. If you are interested let me know what you think and which one you like.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful, blessed and very HAPPY NEW YEAR

I'm not sure if we'll be able to do this or not--especially since we will have my family with us on this trip--but we'll see. Ya'll plan what you want and then let me know what you decide--then I'll see from there. :goodvibes

I just wanted to wish all of my DIS friends a Happy New Year!! 2009 has been a wonderful year!! I've made so many wonderful friends here on the DIS and I look forward to getting to know you all better in 2010 (and hopefully get to meet some of you as well)!!!!! I will always remember 2009 as the year our family fell in love with Disney World (and so the addiction began)! :goodvibes May God richly bless you and your family during this new year!!

I loved all the pictures!! The girls' faces were priceless on Christmas Day. Lots of nice Disney things. :thumbsup2 Claire looks so much older then from your trip. She is starting to lose the baby face. :lovestruc She's such a cutie!
How cute are the dance pictures! The girls look so happy at dance. What kind of dance do they do? Amy starts Lyrical and tap in January.
Congrats to Ally on being student of the week. Such a good girl!
I wish I had thought of the idea to use milk cartons for the gingerbread houses. The day after christmas I bought a gingerpop kit and a gingerbread house kit. So far, we did the gingerpop kit it came out so bad compared to the box. I'm afraid to try the house!
Looks like you had a wonderful christmas. Are you still in Alabama?
Happy New Year!

Thanks Barbara!! I know--Claire is growing up WAY too fast!! :sad2: Ally and Claire both take tap and ballet. Yes--all you have to do is hot glue 2 smaller milk cartons together (like the kids get at school) to make the gingerbread houses. We did have a wonderful Christmas!! Yes, we are still here in Alabama. We head back to Memphis on Saturday. Happy New Year to you Barbara!! :goodvibes

Happy New Year to you and your family to Becky. Its amazing how well you feel you know people you meet on the DIS - people you have never met in person but feel you have so much in common with.

I have started my Pre-Trippie now - if you want to check it out the link is in the bottom of my signature.

With love and best wishes for 2010.

Hi Becky! I saw that WDW is offering room only discounts at 40% for Deluxe resorts. You may already know that but just wanted to make sure you had seen it as I didn't see you mention it. At the Poly, I'm sure you will save more with the 40% than the $750 card. At $425/night the savings for a week is $1190. I got the $425 from the DIS 2010 room rates page. Hope your 2010 is starting out great for you!

Here's the link to Disney's page on the offer: http://bookwdw.reservations.disney....mo&promotionCode=fy10q3room&market=fy10q3room
