This has got to be... (homework rant)

...the most poorly designed, stupid, illogical, impossible to understand programming language currently in use today!

ARGH!

I have been sitting here for a full hour trying to get a blasted MENU SYSTEM to run. Simple concept:

Print 4 options.
User input.
If input is quit, quit. Otherwise perform a function then print the menu again.

Simple. Done it a million times in several other programming languages.

In this **** C language I can't get the **** thing to work! No matter what I do, it's printing the **** menu TWICE every time it prints the menu. There is NO LOGICAL REASON for it to be printing this **** menu TWICE!

I am SO ready to throw this **** C class out the window and quit on it. Homework was due today. I'm home sick so even if I had it done, it would be late. I haven't been able to finish the thing because I've been trying (and apparently failing) to learn C. I thought I had the hang of it this afternoon, but no such luck. Test is Thursday and I just know I'm going to fail it. If I get anything below a B, I've got no choice but to drop the course and be out $800. Even if I get a B, it might be advisable to drop the course since this is grad school and anything below an A is frowned upon.

****** I am so FRUSTRATED I AM JUST SCREAMING! I UNDERSTAND these **** data structures concepts. They aren't hard. But because the professor has **** blinders on that the "only programming language in existance is C", the only way he'll accept you proving your mastery of the concepts is to use them with C. I'm about to fail the course because I don't have a mastery of C. I'm doing better with it than I was two weeks ago because of those CBTs, but trying to do this homework is just proving to me how much of a failure I am in the language.

ARGH!

And I'm home sick so there's no one to whimper to. Tried my dad, he's not at his desk. Tried DH, he's too busy. Tried mom, she's busy at the moment. The cats don't understand.

I HATE BEING OUT OF TOUCH WITH PEOPLE AND I HATE C AND I HATE THIS CLASS!!!

Aw Tammi, I so feel your frustration! I hated programming classes! Totally hated them. I understood it all but I swear I just don't have the patience or the mindset to be a programmer. I was so glad when I knew that I'd never have to take another programming class again. When my DH gets back, I'll ask him if he knows anything about C and maybe he can help you if he does. I never took C so I would be of no help to you. Hang in there and I hope you feel better soon {{hugs}}

We THINK my dad and I have figured out *what* is going on, just not the WHY because it's not behaving as it's supposed to be.

When I type:
c<enter>

where <enter> is the enter key.

It's supposed to read that as "c"
What it's reading and storing in memory is "c<enter>" then processing the menu for both c and <enter>
