Well they’re purposely blind because it doesn’t fit their narrative. But they are claiming this all over social media. How do they do that when Eminem was likely the biggest star there?
Word.I loved it! Gen-X represents and yes, this is a hill I will die on, millennials
Prince still is the best one, but this was definitely up there.
He’s the top selling rap artist of all time and it isn’t even close.Well they’re purposely blind because it doesn’t fit their narrative. But they are claiming this all over social media.
But you really think Eminem was the biggest star there?
Unless something has changed in the past couple of years, football participation is declining...

MTE. I hate country and anything that resembles country (except for some Johnny Cash). But I wouldn't trash the show or the people because it's not my taste.

Wow, it's been a long time since I started a thread with almost 300 replies in less than 24 hours!![]()
It was just my very personal opinion, that the show was the worst, (probably the worst) of the many I have seen over many, many past years, for me. And for many the same reasons written here in this thread.
My opinion should certainly not, and was not meant to say that the show should not have been performed or that it should not have appealed to many here and around the world. Just not for me. As for suggestions to turning it off or not looking at it, I did take the opportunity after posting here last night to take a needed restroom break, so I did miss the latter part of the show, which was fine for me.
I do appreciate everyone's viewpoints here, that's great. That's what makes the world go around, that's what makes us a community here.

I posted on another half time thread, for next year.Well said, Dan. I have yet to watch the halftime show. Just curious whom would you like to entertain during halftime.![]()
I do but only because of my past experiences. More recent hits, a movie, notoriety... DS who is in his 20's thought so too along with Kendrick Lamar.Well they’re purposely blind because it doesn’t fit their narrative. But they are claiming this all over social media.

Eh, the Weeknd was alone last year and I thought he was great. That is all the inclusion I need. That decline isn't even across demographic groups, though. Mostly it is middle/upper class families that have reacted to the CTE headlines by discouraging or forbidding their boys to play football, but that's not where most NCAA recruits and pro prospects are coming from anyway. So I think the sport as a whole is likely to endure despite the declines, because in lower-income and lower-education communities both rural and urban the dream of playing D1 or pro ball is still alive and well.
Same. I might comment on a snooze-inducing show - among people in my FB circle who hated this year's show, there's a meme of George Strait circulating with the caption "When you're ready for a real halftime show, give me a call" or something like that, and I cannot imagine a worse idea than a country crooner putting the fans to sleep at halftime. The game is boring enough most years.
Because he was the only white guy on the stage. One black artist on the stage with four white artists is diversity and inclusion; one white artist on the stage with four black artists is not diverse or inclusive enough.
Because when it comes to certain kinds of music, it’s not enough to just say you don’t care for it. You also have to deny that the people behind the music are artists or that they have any talent. There’s clearly no talent involved in performing, singing on pitch, playing a piano, rapping 7 words per second, winning Grammys, having multi-platinum records, staying relevant in a career that has spanned decades, or being one of the most successful music producers of all time. If you don’t think the music is good then clearly the people can’t be good either. Why do you have loosely included here?

There are terrible and untalented musicians in every genre, just like the ones that played last night.Because when it comes to certain kinds of music, it’s not enough to just say you don’t care for it. Kind of how since I don’t like country music, I always make broad claims that country singers are trash, and none of them can sing well, and it doesn’t take any skill to play a guitar… Oh wait, I’ve never done that. I’ve somehow figured out that just because I don’t like a particular genre of music doesn’t mean the people who make it are bad at what they do.![]()
I love that his bestie, Martha Stewart, was in the house to watch him perform.Snoop could sing me the phone book and I would give him all my money.
Their careers completely counteract your opinion. Especially Dr. Dre.There are terrible and untalented musicians in every genre, just like the ones that played last night.

He's got a billion dollars to prove it.Especially Dr. Dre.
I’m glad you can look at it fairly and judge musicians based on individual talent instead of automatically writing them off because of who they are or what you think they represent. I look forward to hearing your open-minded critique of next year’s halftime show featuring Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion. There are terrible and untalented musicians in every genre, just like the ones that played last night.
