Hi. I was to go to a nice long day of scrapbooking with even lunch included away from home. Now with this darn storm, its cancelled. I guess now its to clean house and get the:laundy: done. Maybe I can sneak away to a little warm corner and get some scrapbooking done. If only DH would not bug me for the day. both DD's are gone for the day.

I just looked outside and there's about 4 or 5 inches of snow on my car from last night. Blah!

My kids school is already out of snow days, and the snow just keeps coming. Every time we start to see the roads again there comes another big ole pile of snow. ARRGH, I would love to see a little patch of grass already...

I don't care so much about grass... but all these bad road conditions are depressing.

I have just come off of working about 14 days straight (on purpose) and have a 3 day weekend. DH and I were going to go shopping downtown TO and out for dinner.

I guess that is out of the question.

Why don't you take the GO train from Whitby to downtown?

Trains leave Whitby for downtown at :47 past the hour.
Trains leave Union for Whitby at :13 past the hour.

You'll have your choice of restaurants and they'll probably not be the usual Saturday crowds.

That did cross my mind, but considering the weather, I think it'd leave us walking around outside a little too much :P

DH was set to leave Atlanta yesterday at 4pm to come home via Buffalo.
His flight was cancelled. Due to leave today at 12:38pm. Cancelled.
I tried to book him back for tomorrow. First available flight was Tuesday morning!!

I was able to get him a flight on USAir so he might be home tomorrow at 5pm.

Boy, do I feel for all those March Breakers who's flights were interrupted.

What a mess!

It just keeps coming here in Eastern Ontario. We got about 20 centimeters overnight and it is still falling. We're supposed to get another 20-30 today. We are running out of places to put it!

I too feel sorry for the March Break travellers. This storm couldn't have happened at a worse time.

Keep safe everyone

We got up to 70 cm in areas around here the other day. Right after our Premier announced a new carbon tax to combat global warming! That went over real well! :rotfl: :rotfl:

However, it has been nice as of late so we are seeing some melting right now. But there is quite aways to go before I can see the green of my grass.

in Niagara Falls for tomorrow night..but if this keeps up, we can't go. Pray they will let us switch, without penalty, as the penalty is the first night's fees..which is around $400.00

Snow will stop in plenty of time for your trip to the GWL.
QEW will be cleared.

Dh flew home from Nashville last night at 6pm with a transfer in Chicago. His flight there was delayed 2 hours and he finally got to Buffalo at 1am. His car had sat for over a week in the parking lot at the airport and it took him close to an hour to get it cleaned off and unstuck from the ice and 8" of snow around it from previous snowfalls. He got home just before 5am and was glad that he decided to drive home instead of staying overnight in Buffalo, before the snow storm really hit!

I've been out today and shoveled the driveway twice so far!

We leave for WDW tomorrow night. We're flying out of Buf so we'll leave tomorrow morning in case some of the roads are still bad. I'm glad we weren't going yesterday or today we may have had to just cancel.
Hope all our Dis buddies have managed to get out okay!

Not to worry you should be able to drive to Buffalo Sunday am as the snow is to stop here by 2am. Right now we are in a bit of a lull in the storm , freezing rain but lightly, maybe it will be less than they thought! Have fun in Disney, all the shovellers here are jealous! Just looking at the pool and it is almost completeley filled with snow on top of the winter liner, thank god we pumped it down after the last thaw! Lets make the best of it and get out an build a snowman and put your best Mickey ears on it and post a photo!!!

Perhaps you could plan on leaving late afternoon tomorrow.....Toronto area isn't getting hit as bad as Niagara....we are about 15 minutes from GWL and the roads here are awful today, the storm is supposed to finish overnight tonight so I would think that by tomorrow afternoon they should be not near as bad, and that way you won't loose out. Be happy you aren't trying to get out today. Hope you have a great time!

Just posting to send some good vibes to all of the March Break travelers.
We are close to the Buffalo border and as of about 15 minutes ago we are getting POUNDED. The wind just picked up out of nowhere and visability is pretty bad. I hope everyone stays safe and is able to get where they need to go:)

We fly out of Buffalo early tomorrow evening, Sunday Mar 9.
Checked BUF website today so far Southwest has had no cancellations, just a few minor delays. Just printed out our boarding passes.

Snow is supposed to stop around 2:00 am. The ploughs will be out all night and I'm sure by the time we leave tomorrow morning the roads will be great.

Looks like we're on the same flight. What time are you heading out to the airport? We're dropping off the kids at my parent's in Mississauga around 10 and will go from there.
