My DH and I have decided that he won't be able to leave work for a disney trip 2009/10. We're self-employed and shutting down the office completely during what may be a slow year is not going to happen.
So instead, I'm taking each of the kids on shorter trips - one-on-one time with me!
I'm taking the little guy first - he'll be 8. So I'm looking at this week - Nov 8-14. We only need a studio - anywhere really - but at BWV would be my first choice for us. Considering F&W finishes the weekend before (I think...) would I have a good chance of getting one? How are the crowds? The weather?
We will likely only be spending a day at HS (his fave), a day at MK (my fave) and our evenings wandering Epcot. Thoughts? Suggestions?

I can not help you with the odds of getting a studio in the area you want, this is my first year owning DVC.
But, I went in early November last year, as I had devloper points that I had to use as SSR and the first week of December was booked.
It really was a great time of year to go. The crowds were quite light. The weather was quite mild until a cold front moved in, it only got to about 65 degrees. This apparently is not the norm though as several of the CMs I talked to had said it had not been that cold during November in quite a number of years. But I had a great time and enjoyed myself. I went to MVMCP, and since it was so cold, it really made it a lot of fun.

Great time of year to go. 2009 will be our third time. The week before is Jersey week so there will be some people remaining from that. The 11th is Veterans Day and on a Wednesday so quite a few people will be making long weekends out of both ends of that. It is also the start of the MVMCP.

My point is not to expect empty parks and no lines. Do expect the start of the Christmas season, some crowds and great weather. Enjoy.

Wow, lucky you - multiple trips!! Early Nov. is a great time to go. The weather is usually wonderful and the crowds aren't too bad either.

We went exactly that time in 2008 with my son who was also 8! It was fantastic. Crowds light, no problem with the parks - was surprised with the restaurants that still needed ADR's. We booked a 1 BR at BWV at the 7 month mark with no problem. The weather was great - here in Canada, as you know, November is a yucky month - no snow and very grey and cold. A perfect time to go! We did not do the Christmas party but now wonder if we should have ...

Have fun! I'm jealous. :dance3:
