we are seriously considering becoming members of dvc. we just returned from wdw and loved the tour at the bwv. we typically only get to wdw every few years and we're trying to figure out if this is something that is right for us. have any of you used your points for nonwdw hotels? how about using them at interval international properties? were you satisfied with your stays and ease of use etc. we'd love to hear your advice. we are trying to make dvc work for us.

thanks so much.

DVC works best for those who go to WDW at least evey other year, stay in at least an on site moderate hotel and can plan 10 -11 months ahead of time.

The best value of DVC points is at the DVC resorts.

If you plan to take advanatge of the non-DVC options (like II exchanges or non-DVC resorts) on a regular basis, there are much less expensive options for you.

You might consider buying less DVC points and then use the banking and borrowing options to stay in a DVC resort every third year. You could then look into something else (or pay cash) for the times you want to vacation elsewhere.

Best wishes -

1) DVC is best if used every year, or every-other-year.
2) It is usually very easy to trade outside of DVC
3) Places that can be traded are nice, and will be enjoyed
4) DVC is of best value when used as/at DVC

5) When used for non-DVC resorts, DVC is VERY expensive
. . . dvc is one of the most expensive timeshares
. . . trading can be done far cheaper with other II or RCI resales
. . . it is simply not a good value to buy DVC just to trade
