I don't know much about it. How exactly does it work? Do you pay the first time and get the points and then get the same amt. of points every year for 50 years? How much are the yearly fees? Can you get vacation packages or is it just for the room?

Whatever number of points your purchase are credited to your account on the same use month (ie. December). You can choose to bank the points for one year or borrow from the next.

There are annual dues which increase yearly on the average of 3%. For Animal Kingdom Villas, they are currently $4.71 a point per year (ie. 200 points X $4.71 = $942.00 per year, increasing an average of 3% every year thereafter).

The points are only for accomodations, all other items are at your expense (ie. Airfare, Food, Parking, Car Rental, etc.). But while using your points at a DVC resort (or at a Disney World resort), you are still eligible for all the other benefits and discounts (and some additional ones) as if you were paying cash.

By using the banking/borrowing feature you can purchase a smaller contract, say 75 points. Then you can bank a year (ie...2008 into your 2009 use year). Then in 2009 you will be able to use 75pts from 2008 and 75 points from 2009 for a total of 150 points. This would allow you to have nice accomodations every other year and keep your expenses(ie...yearly maintainance fees) to a minimum.

You could also bank 2008 and borrow 2010 points and have available 225 for 2009 if you need additional points. You may only bank points for one year and if they are not used in the following use year you will lose them.

These boards are full of info and you should be able to spend some time here and find out anything you need to know about how the process works.
