We are currently booked for a four day 11/05/06. I am thinking about changing it to a 7 day leaving on 11/4/06. There will be all four of us on this cruise.

We have always booked a Cat 6. But now I am cosidering booking two rooms either on Cat 12 (and hope for an upgrade), 11, 10 or 9. I know on the Cat 9 you have the split bathroom plan.

I do not want to know which one you think I should chose over another. What I do want to hear is from people who have stay in these cat's.

I would like to know the following

1. Which cat you stayed in
2. Would you stay in that Cat and/or room again
3. How many people were in the room

Thanks.

Well, we have been in a Cat 9 (3 of us)including DS age 7. Loved the room...
DS's (21 and 14) were across the hall in a Cat 12. They loved their room, but to me, IMO it was small and VERY dark. No split bath. But for the 2 of them they loved it.

We are looking at a Thanksgiving cruise in 07 and will probably book a Cat 9 because of the cost.

Oh I had not thought about that option. I like that idea.
Do you think all of you will stay in the Cat 9 or do two Cat 9's?

We did one cat 9 with 4 people-and put other DS in the connecting Cat 9 room with friends we were traveling with. We are booked on the 7 night 11/11/06 and reserved 2 cat 9 rooms. Loved the split bath, and will enjoy having the older boys just a door away. If you go with the 2 rooms that are different Cats remember to get a gaur. on your cabin assignment. Someone on our last cruise ended up on the other end of the ship from the rest of her family instead of just across the hall, and since the ship was fully booked there was nothing that DCL would do to fix it for her.

One thing to consider, you can get connecting rooms in a cat 10 and up. Your kids are little, and I wouldn't want them away, you can ask your stateroom host/hostess to give you something to keep the connecting doors open, so you have a suite of sorts. We've only sailed in a cat 6 and cat 4. Personally, I wouldn't sail without a balcony, especially on the 7 night sailings.

Edited to add: we're booked on 11/04/06, so come join us!!!!

When we go in 07 it will just be the 4 of us. So we will be fine in a Cat 9. Besides, we hardly ever see the kids anyway...lol

As long as my children are beside of me they are fine. We have had Connecting Cat 6 before and I felt more ill at ease this way then I would in a Cat w/o the veranda.

At time of cruisng they will be 13 and my DS will turn 12 on the cruise. I do not feel like they are too young to have a room by themselves as long as they are close to me.
