We have 250 points at SSR. I got a promotional email recently about buying additional points at a $10 discount ($94 / point) and getting a $500 Disney gift card. I called to find out the minimum, which is 100 additional points.

That's probably beyond my reach right now, but I may be able to buy a smaller amount. Is there a minimum amount when purchasing additional points at your home resort? I was advised that I could buy either at SSR or AKV.

If there's no minimum, I could possibly buy 10-20 additional points right now with the discounted price.

The minimum point add-on is 25 points if paying cash, or 50 points if financing. In order to receive any incentives, you must purchase at least 100 (for AKV and SSR). Keep in mind that you can purchase points at any of the 8 DVC resorts, and not just SSR and AKV. However, the specific incentives you are talking about are only for SSR.

Unless you purchase the minimum, there is no discounted price. For 25 points (the minimum purchase available) the cost would be $104 at either SSR or AKV. The discount begins at 100 points.

DH and I just went resale with TSS for a 50 pt contract add-on with the same UY as our master contract from Disney. The seller accepted $83/pt - $21 less than Disney cost. The contract is essentially stripped but we have no costs until we get the '09 points and we don't need the points before that date.

You might want to shop around the resale market to see if there is something there that meets your needs. The DIS boards also have threads where you can track the contracts that are are being accepted and rofr'd so that you can see what is a good price to offer on a contract.
