Thinking of adding beach time, please help! Kinda long

I am in the early stages of planning a 4 day Wonder cruise and some time in Orlando for next Feb. I'm now thinking of spending a couple of days at the beach after our cruise before going to WDW. We've only been to WDW once before and didn't see much else. Am not very familiar with the area. Pulled out my Atlas today to get a lay of the land. My questions are.. Is there a nice beach by Cape Canaveral where we could spend a couple of days after the cruise? Where could we stay? How far from Cape Canaveral is the beach? Then how far to Orlando? We are thinking of doing a couple of the parks but not commando style touring in WDW. Has anyone done this? Or, do those who are more experienced think that a 4 day cruise, a couple of days at the beach and 4 or 5 days in WDW would be too much? One more question! What is the Space Center like and is it worth it to take 9 year old daughter? Thanks so much for all who took the time to read this lengthy post! Any comments greatly appreciated. Jenn
