Usually this time of year is a good time to go. Not that anything can be done about crowds, but I grow a little concerned hearing that all the hotel rooms are booked, even all the camp sites at the Fort are booked, and I cannot even get ressies for the Whispering Canyon anytime before 9 PM for our party of 12 for the entire week. But I will enjoy myself no matter what. A day and change till we leave, at least right now the weather looks nice :)

I don't know but I'm prepared just in case! I am really hoping that it won't be too bad. The weather forecast is awesome!!! We leave in 35 hours...

We are leaving early Saturday morning. Here's hoping for low crowds and great weather!!!!!!!!!!!

I leave in 27 hours. Weather looks good but packing some fleece just in case. Just go with the flow crowds or not.

See you guys down there. We start our leisurely drive down there tomorrow morning!! I can't wait. :cool1:  :cool1:

I'm spending the just the weekend. I was warned last night by friends who were at MGM yesterday that the park was so crowded they were turning people away from Lights, Motor, Action. They said all the lines were long. Hopefully most ppl will check out Sat or Sun.

I guess too many people read the DIS and are turning the slow times into crowded times ;) (In 1999, we left Thanksgiving day from PA and arrived that night at WDW. It was like a ghost town. We had that whole week all to ourselves.)

we are leaving Sunday! the whole reason we picked this week was the historically low crowd levels but who knows now what we'll find once we're there next week- at least the weather should be wonderful.

We leave Monday morning...hoping for great weather and low crowd, but if not at least we are in WDW and not home..lol

We'll be there Tuesday on our first trip to Disney! I'm a tad bit excited. We chose this week because it was "supposed" to be a lower crowd time.

We were there in '04 the week after that and it was a little crowded and all the CM's were saying the week before was so dead, everything was walk on. I was so upset b/c originally we were going to go that week but decided to wait one more. But we did not have more than a 15 minute wait for anything so we still had a wonderful time!

We arrived last year on the Monday after, and the crowds were pretty low. Still want to stay away from the EMH nights tho LOL. We thought with the low crowds it would ok but we were wrong! Even in the low crowds EMH brings em all out!!!

we were there for the last weekend of Jersey week thru this past weekend (very depressed), but both weekends were very crowded. I imagine your weekend, especially Saturday, will be crowded. But the crowds will lightend up significantly after that.

From what I've been reading, the dates around Thanksgiving are always crowded. They start lightening up on Sunday evening, so the next week from the 27th on should be find. "Should" being the operative word there!

The Pop Warner crowd starts arriving anywhere from the 3rd on as it officially starts on the 4th and ends the 10th.

Mousefest starts on the 3rd. Here's their itinerary:

MouseFest Cruise - December 3-7, 2006
MouseFest Land - December 7-11, 2006
MegaMouse Meet 2006 - December 9, 2006

MouseFest 2006 Day-by-Day:

Sunday 12/3/06 – MouseFest Cruise departs
Monday 12/4/06 – MouseFest Cruise – Nassau
Tuesday 12/5/06 – MouseFest Cruise – Castaway Cay
Wednesday 12/6/06 – MouseFest Cruise – At Sea
Thursday 12/7/06 – MouseFest Cruise ends, MouseFest Land – Magic Kingdom
Friday 12/8/06 – MouseFest Land – Animal Kingdom (morning)/Disney-MGM Studios (afternoon/evening)
Saturday 12/9/06 – MouseFest Land – Mega Mouse Meet/Epcot
Sunday 12/10/06 – MouseFest Land – Magic Kingdom
Monday 12/11/06 – MouseFest Land – Disney-MGM Studios

I guess we'll all just have to wait and see for ourselves how the crowds will be! Here's hoping for the best!

Hey mikmin - also a fellow PA'er. We'll be there from 12-1 to 12-9. Maybe we'll see you around the parks :)
Enjoy - we can't wait!!!!

We're heading down Dec.2nd thru the 10th.. We're not concerned so much about crowds (just seeing all the decorations will be awesome!), but we're certainly hoping that the "cold snap" is over by then!!!

Have a great trip!:)

I noticed some posters on this thread who aren't going to The World until December 1, and staying for several days into December. That's not the week after Thanksgiving. I have gone to Disney during both the first and second weeks (different trips) of December, and found the parks to be very manageable, without too much of a wait for any attraction. Hope it stays that way this season for those posters as well.

But this holiday season I am spending the actual week after Thanksgiving at WDW, arriving on Monday, Nov. 27, and departing on Saturday, Dec. 2. THAT'S the week after Thanksgiving.

I am hoping that the crowds in the parks are not too huge, but have made my plans as though there will be crowds. Will report on this after I return home.

Enjoy.

We leave in 17 hours! First trip with DD and DS! SOOOO Excited! The weather looks awesome and hopefully the crowds won't be too bad!

Here's to everyone have an awesome time! :thumbsup2

We went the week after Thanksgiving last year and it was great. We arrived on Sunday and saw some of the Thanksgiving crowds but nothing terrible - we went to Epcot as I think that park handles the crowds the best. By Tuesday we had little to no waits at the E ticket attractions. Weather and decorations were beautiful.

Have a great trip :)
