My total charge for our CRT breakfast was $184.52 for two adults and three children. I think they charged me for 3 adults and 2 children.:confused3 And if my math is right they are charging me 20% tax for this meal!!!:scared1:

Adult 34.99 x2 and children 23.99 x3=$141.95. That's $42.57 in tax!

Even if they charged me for 3 Adults and 2 Children=$152.95, thats $31.57 in tax. Is that right? Why such a high tax?

Does anyone know what the adult and child charge is WITH tax?

What are the ages of the children? If they are between 3-9 years old, they are charged child's pricing. If you have kids 10 or older, you will pay adult pricing for them.

Maybe that will help figure out part of the problem. That is the standard age pricing across WDW property. Also, they have holiday pricing in effect during certain times of the year. That might also be a factor.

If you are still certain that those factors aren't part of your discrepancy, you can call Disney Dining and ask for a supervisor to go over the charges with you so you can get an itemized explanation from them.

The math comes out about right for 3 adults, 2 kids, 11% tax and 18% tip. So it is possible a mistake was made, but it may have been other things. Was Holiday pricing in effect? Did you have any drinks besides the basics? Only coffee, tea, milk, and juice are covered, special drinks for kids are not.

Tax is 6.5% at MK and an auto gratuity would be 18%. Perhaps I've been misunderstanding CRT, but I believe that the gratuity is built into the price shown on wdwinfo, allears, etc.

Some other possibilities would be that they're raising the price of the meal, or you are being charged holiday pricing (Menu prices increase about $5 per person during those times)

I'd call Disney directly to see why you were charged that amount. Unfortunately, beyond speculation and a sympathetic hug, we aren't going to be very helpful in getting this fixed for you.

Good luck!! :goodvibes:

Be sure to let us know how it works out when you call Disney - I'm really curious.

They add in the tip...I had the same question when I booked for our July trip last year.I was confused because we used our DDE card we were not on DDP. so the math was really screwy. They took 20% off the food portion of the meal not the picture then added in tip and tax I would have needed a math degree to figure out WTH they did.:rotfl2: IF you are on DDP it is 2 credits and they take care of the tip.HTH

I know for two adults and two children we are paying something like $142 (no holiday surcharge) so the $180 sounds like you might be right about it being for three adults, two kids. Not sure, but worth inquiring!

3 adults and 1 child for us was $155.
Dont they add a charge for the picture as well?

Allears is saying tax and gratuity extra :confused3 (below is what I copied from their site). There is no additional charge for the photo package, although it does say you may purchase additional photos. I just booked a CRT breakfast for June and for one adult/one child it was $78.27.

Obviously I was charged more than just the the per person price. I haven't been able to figure out exactly what it consists of though. (2009 pricing might be part of my issue). :)

Tax and gratuity IS extra and they do tack that on the price. I bet the price went up also. I finally gave up and just went to my lunch...I could NOT figure it out Disney Math ?:confused3

Going to call in the morning about this. All these comments have helped. It sounds like Tricia1972 is probably right, as 24.5% is about what the extra charge equals. I am pretty sure they charged me 3 adults and 2 kids instead of vice versa. It is just 2 adults and three kids. I will call tomorrow and see if I can't get the adjusment. If I can't get it over the phone should I bring it up at the end of our meal?

If one of the kids is 10+ they get charged as an adult. The grand total that you pay includes tax and tip and the photo package

Was just going to add that I would just tell CRT at check-in if you need a refund. I pre-paid CRT when I reserved it, then later we got Free Dining and I wanted to use dining credits. I called twice to Disney Dining to try to get the cc refunded and used only as a hold. Twice they assured me the refund would show up. It didn't. So at CRT check-in I told them and our waitress asked about it. She said it's something they have to do there, even though the Dining CM's seem to think they can do it.

We ate there on a Friday and our cc was credited by Tuesday. So calling dining may not work but the folks at CRT got it right.

The dining CM's CAN do it but they have to know what theyre doing. Theres so many of them and a lot are part time college students. I used to have to do it when I took their overflow calls when they got backed up. Theres a form they have to email to accounting that theyre not doing

I was charged for 3 adults and 2 kids instead of 2 adults and 3 kids. CM did tell me to just let them know at CRT and they would issue the credit. Said it was easier and quicker to do it there than for them to do it. Thanks for all the help. BTW, the credit is for $10.82! Almost as much as my phone calls. :rotfl2:

The math comes out about right for 3 adults, 2 kids, 11% tax and 18% tip.

Tax is 6.5% at MK and an auto gratuity would be 18%.

Which tax rate is correct? I'm trying to verify my charge as well. We are 2 adults and 1 child and my credit card was charged $125.49, but I'm not sure how they came up with this figure. Assuming pricing is $34.99/adult and $23.99/child, plus $4/adult and $2/child peak season surcharge...:confused3

Peak Cost w/MK 6.5% Tax
2 Adults $77.98
1 Child $25.99
Subtotal $103.97
6.5%Tax $6.76
18% Tip $18.71
TOTAL $129.44

Peak Cost w/MK 11% Tax
2 Adults $77.98
1 Child $25.99
Subtotal $103.97
11% Tax $11.44
18% Tip $18.71
TOTAL $134.12

No sure but maybe they only charge Tip on the food portion of the meal ...I know when using my DDE card I did not get 20% off the total cost but just the food part. :confused3

The tax on food is definitely 6.5% at MK. They do round up however. Your tax would break down to $6.75805 - they'd charge $6.76. Even if it was $6.751 - they'd round up to $6.76.

I have copies of receipts that I could scan for you if it'd make you feel more confident about the tax rate.

Perhaps the $4 difference you are seeing has to do with them not charging gratuity on the photo portion? I don't know for sure if they do or don't add gratuity to that. The prior post just made me think that since they don't discount on the non-food portion they don't charge gratuity on it either. :confused3
