Finally got flight arrangements. We're landing in Orlando at 1 PM, staying at AKL. We have an ADR at 4:55 at Crystal Palace. Is that doable or pushing it?

TIA!

Hm...

FLying makes me nervous...I wouldn't make any ADR's on my day to fly in....but that's just me...

I suppose you could cancel it...if something happened?

Just IMHO....

I think as long as there is no delay with your flight you should be able to make it. Good luck and enjoy!

I think you can make it, but I wouldn't make an ADR this close, IMO. On our arrival day, it always seems like we get settled later than we had anticipated. We love to hit MK right away, and then we get distracted doing things we love to do, and an ADR can sometimes put a damper on that. Or sometimes the kids want to hit the pool right away, and then MK. That said, we did make adinner ADR at CP on day of arrival for one of our trips, and loved it.:cool1: But it was for around 6:30 on a day when we arrived at 1. Of course, the great thing about CP is the location - we usually find ourselves in MK at some point on our arrival day :yay:

Last trip, we had an ADR for the Wishes dessert party at 8pm, and nearly didn't make it, after having arrived in Orlando early in the afternoon.

Good luck, and enjoy!

Depends. Are you using DME? If so, this is how your timing 'should' work out...
land ontime at 1ish. You 'should' be at AKL by 2:30 at the latest. Get checked in. If your room is ready, you can go, freshen up a bit. Now, it's probably about 3:15-3:30. Out to the MK bus stop, arrive at MK around 4:15....depending on how long you have to wait for a bus, this is assuming you have a longish wait.
So..you should be able to make it for 4:55, maybe a bit early even.
If you are using a car service, it will take less time...about 20 mins or so.
But this is all assuming everything is ontime.

Last trip to the world, we arrived by car around 10 am and had lunch ressies at CP around 1:30. The kids were so excited to be there and see everything and couldn't care less about sitting down to eat. They were 8. 6.and 2 yrs old. They would have much preferred grabbing a sandwich somewhere and seeing more of the park. I think the baby would have warmed up to the characters there if we had given her more time to adjust to the park. She was kind of in shock when Pooh came to our table, but by the end of the week was hugging the characters we met.

I can't speak for your family, but I wish I had not scheduled this meal so early in our trip. Next time no ADR on the first day, (except maybe for dinner at Ohana):goodvibes

We rent a car and would have plenty of time to make that. I don't know about busses and such.

I think you will be fine. If you find you are running late, consider a cab from AKL to MK, as that will be faster than the bus.

Thanks, guys. We are using DME. I may see if we can get a ressie later in the evening. We are on the dining plan, so I'm trying to get the most bang for my buck!

I think you will be fine. For my clients (I'm a TA) I would time it out like this...land at 1p, arrive at resort by 3pm, checkin by 3:30pm, half hour in room, leave for MK at 4pm, 4:15pm bus picks up, arrive at MK at 4:45pm. You will have 10 minutes to make your reservation. It's a little close, but it can be done, but only if flights are on time and nothing else goes wrong. That being said, perhaps making the reservation a little later (if possible) might work a little better. The kids are gonna be so excited when they get there, that they might not get as much out of the experience as they would a little later that day or perhaps another day. Hope this helps.

You will probably make it, but so what if you don't, it's Crystal Palace.
