Think anyone would ever go this route rather than sell their points?

I imagine there are a lot of people who are a place in life where they can't afford Disney trips (including monthly dues) or just can't make it down, yet they don't want to sell their DVC points because they foresee themselves wanting to use it later.

So, rather than try to constantly rent them out (where you may or may not find someone who needs all of them), do you think anyone would ever be interested in going the easy route and teaming up with another member and simply transferring the points over annually in exchange for that member paying their monthly fees up-front?

If I were in the position of someone who couldn't make it down ---> While I would love to get MORE for my points than just the monthly fees, I can see myself hitting a time period where I don't want to go through the hassle of finding people and wouldn't mind just transferring them over annually to the same member in exchange for him/her paying the monthly fees.

I'm not even sure why I am bringing this up, as I don't want to take over anyone's points, nor do I want to unload my own, but I was wondering if this would ever be possible....or whether it would be worth taking in less $.

I can't see why anyone would transfer them just for dues/fees when they can transfer them for between $10 to $13 a point! I buy transferrable points every 3 years or so for our family reunion to rent a GV. Even at just $10 a point in my case, with 210 points I could make $2100 rather than $1080 it cost me in dues!

Anything is possible but I wouldn't do it!

100$ agree with beasly.

I buy transfers (so far) every yr. between 9.50 - 10.50 I have paid. I love the flexibility of more points now, and do not know if I want them in 30 yrs. So although I would sign say a 5 yr agreement, the seller would be more benifical to sell them at 10$ a point each yr. I think you could sell 2 yrs at once even.

Since we can't do transfers for profit guess its a moot point.
